Chris Gore is a writer, comedian, author and television personality who has built a solid reputation as a hilariously outspoken voice in the entertainment world. As a teenager, Chris founded the brutally honest magazine Film Threat, which began as a fanzine while he was a college student in Detroit. As Film Threat evolved into a respected national magazine, he relocated to Los Angeles. The print magazine was retired in 1997 when it was re-launched as a web site. FilmThreat.com found a huge audience online and was named one of the top five movie web sites by the Wall Street Journal. Chris has appeared as a film expert on MSNBC, E!, CNN, Travel Channel, and Reelz Channel. Chis has also hosted shows on FX, Starz, IFC and G4TV’s Attack of the Show as the show’s film expert. His weekly movie review segment DVDuesday was among the most popular on G4. Chris is also an author, having written The 50 Greatest Movies Never Made and The Complete DVD Book. His book The Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide is considered the bible of the industry and is required reading at film school.
Rogue One was the only decent StarWars after the first 3. It was even better than Return, imo. The rest is trash. The world has become an unoriginal cesspool run by unoriginal people with thick necks, small brains and fat wallets.

It has gotten much much worse in these last 5 years, movies lack depth, also “content” needs to be politically correct and in doing so result is just slop. I was watching master of the universe and the movie ended with “not every with muscles is a man” extrapolating upon this premise not everyone who has a “penis” is man. Do you see the problem?
Another issue is making everything so obvious that there is no point in watch the movie. Basically it’s like the radio, because people doomscrolling while watching the movie makes it impossibly to focus and pay attention. So the dialogue has become like a radio show. There aren’t any visual cues anymore.

BOOKS WE RECOMMEND
Folks, it’s a generational problem, the filmmakers that we grew up that we enjoyed movies from are either retired or they have passed on, now we’re stuck with a younger generation of filmmakers and they don’t know how to tell a story right and keep it moving and keep us entertained.

CONNECT WITH FILM COURAGE
Here's the problem: Truthfully, this is the problem: ONLY THE WEST has a literary tradition that has been documented and inculcated the world for 2500 years. There are tales, but no literary traditions. WE defined "heroicism."
WE staged plays.
You do have others, like China, or Japan, but the form of ALL OF IT is The Greek Chorus, straight through to Arthur, Passion Plays, Oratorio, Opera and once Shakespeare took over...everything else is based off of that.
So, I ask...where were, historically, Documented, LGBTQRX, ALL of Africa, The Middle East, South East Asia, The Hawaiian Islands, etc, in all of this? The ENTIRE Muslim World? Nowhere. Real do or die, actual heroes. Ghandi isn't a hero. Neither is Nelson Mandela, some Trans activist, or Martin Luther King. These are social activists. Unheroic. No boy is interested in fake heroism and guess what?
So, you can make a sports movie, but even that's biographical. You can make a sci-fi movie, but ehhhh...it's been done, they're boring AF and people have to suspend their disbelief, because they see the forced mythos behind it.
Nobody will pay to see Oprah in "The Color Purple" and pretend like it's some great piece of art. If they created great art, it would have manifested. Muslims don't write novels. Facts.

quick analogy they use to make movies because the scriptwriters and directors had a story to tell and there were ''some'' lies too that what america wanted the world to see to give them a good reputation, but now the people making movies suck at story telling they just can't even if they wanted to make movies like they did pre 2010's hahaha. they got all the tools to make a movie yet they suck so hard at it that everyone I speak about modern movies from america, are soooo fucking bad. the lies, the ideology the uninteresting story, the way movies have to be , the woke and the propaganda is OOZING out , yet are the watcher satified???? do they even care that people do not like modern movies. I remember the 90's as a kid, a movie took a significant time to make, you could watch movies every weekend and you would be waiting on a new poster of a movie just released,. they are now released like weeds in a fucking field, you can't get rid of them and they contain nothing worth your time.....absolutley zero!!!!!!!! and that reflect the american in general....they love it, must be good right? empty shells of men and women and whatever you think you are!

$36 for 2 people to see a crappy movie…nope ! That’s why people don’t go to the theater. If you have a wife and a couple kids you’re taking $60-$70 without drinks or snacks. It’s ridiculous!

Will we ever see a film again like CAPTAIN FART JUICE? Or GAS FARTS? They just don't get made anymore. They wouldn't even make FARTY FART FARTS now, and that was a classic!

Stuff we use:
Hollywood stole the idea of Independent film when they sent celebrities to Sundance. Film festivals were created to offer opportunity for independent artists and Hollywood had blockbusters but wanted total control and that could be the end of an industry
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - http://amzn.to/2tbtmOq
AUDIO
factory crap havent been to the cinema for over 20 years and i am a fricking actor
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post http://amzn.to/2t1n2hx
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - http://amzn.to/2u5UnHv
I have literally given up on movies. I’ve given up on Star Wars and it is heartbreaking. I cannot tell you how big of a fan I am and I was absolutely crushed by 7, 8, and 9
It’s like they don’t want my money

I compare the movies coming out of Hollywood like the NBA it used to be that the movies and the sport was played for the fans. Now, it seems like it's for the writers and the producers to push their agenda, players can't stand the fans and it seems like in movies. And in hollywood , they don't care for the ones watching and paying for this , so called entertainment

@Woofingchristhopinhave not watched a modern movie other rhan no country for old men, just jp melville, bergman, old euro and japannese films...
@finnandcorkIn deciding whether to greenlight a film, movie executives ask the question: has this been done before? They want the answer to be yes when they should want the answer to be no.
@stephenmark6781I just watch B movies on Tubi and Fawesome.
@ryan213099.99% percent movies are crazily garbage.
@reverse2063woke has taken over Hollywood. Affirmative action. Let's have a move with a young woman as a gunslinger in the old west, despite the fact that 99.9999% of the gunslingers in the actual old west were male. Hollywood is trying its best to be politically correct 100% of the time. It's political only, devoid of art, let alone entertainment. The ethical positions of the far left dominating everything. Do movies have a bad German or a bad Russian balanced by a good German or a good Russian? Of course not. But a bad black person or a bad woman have to be balanced by at least one, or more likely many more than one, of these demographics. Woke, political correctness, is everything. Gore talks about back to the future with a female lead - wow, I'll be first in line to see that one. All Hollywood cares about is furthering the far left wing agenda, in everything. This is not art, this is politics, and people can see through this instantly. I don't know about you, but I don't go to the movies to be lectured by a bunch of political zealots, whatever their stripe.
@peterrotella7508snsにshe/themとか書いているおかしな国がいい作品なんか作れるわけないだろ
お前らの脳は萎縮してんだよ
Godzilla Minus One, Warfare, Primitive War. These are films that were made on “small budgets” (compared to ‘established’ franchises like Marvel or Disney) but with PASSION for the end result. That’s the difference.
@sonar357Life is politics, Star Wars (and every good scifi) is politics!
@raziusx5933I don't get excited about movies anymore. And I used to love movies. I just want great stories. Give me more Clair Obscure Expedition 33 style movies, tv series, books and video games. Keep your politics (all politics) out of my entrainment.
@LurkingAstronautİts was all about era and the era of good movies has ended permanently
@Ebaki5580I watch every movie because I love movies. I only Re-watch movies from the 70s, 80s and 90s with a few sprinkled in from the last 15 years. As movies become more and more shitty, the horror genre seems to be a little better. Barely.
@flipjupiter1Studio blockbusters has no soul. They have shallow plots, terrible scripts and relies way too much on CGI. Even period dramas have been destroyed with iPhone face actors. That’s why I have diverted to watching films from the 90s and older all the way to 1930s.
@sirid2987I HAVENT BEEN TO A THEATRE IN 10YRS. ITS ALL CRAP. I MISS IT
@MOONMANSAVESROCKYou know who the movie should be for? The screenwriter, producer and director. That's it! If their creative and artistic jollies are satisfied, then that's all that matters, period! If people want to go see it, they do, if they don't they don't!
@rm-jl8wyEXACTLY!
If I want to watch a Sermon, I will go to church.
I go to movies to escape the world's crap.
I love listening to Chris Gore talk about movies.
@shawnsimmons9319where are movies like triangle, all i see are predictable movies. i ll show myself out
@thecreator_benjiFury I'll watch it over and over. Inglorious bastards.
@MyCrazylikeafoxRather watch the 90s and 2000 movies.
@MyCrazylikeafoxI will die on a hill and say Star wars should never have tried to retcons or de-canonize the legends/legacy universe.
YZV wars for example. Would have been an AMAZING trilogy series.
All they have to do is be faithful to source material but they can't do that because they can't give credit to something successful. They have to "innovate" and tick so many check boxes, hit so many keywords and agendas, that their corporate shareholder stooges think fans will love, but know NOTHING about the source material. It's pathetic.
One word, WOKE. Enough said.
@êtreblancetenêtrefiereverything is animated unlike the 80s where things where actually acted now they just animate 90% of the movie it sucks it looks bad and it looks cheap -_-
@defcondazzIf you really want to lecture your audience, you just have to embed it organically in the story and don’t make it cringey and tacky like modern disney/marvel/star wars
@JollyTomBombadilloStop sending a woman to do a Mans job. Improper casting in the name of pandering hurts any film hoping to be successful.
@buddy_loveThe feminist remakes are some pandering bullshit that can die off immediately. It's a bunch of unoriginal, uninspired cash-grab trash.
@buddy_loveToo many skirts in the boardroom has certainly ruined the film industry. People need to know their roles and stop trying to interject their personal view points all the time.
@buddy_lovePeople will not pay hard earned money for entertainment Only to be preached at for an hour. Nobody cares about your overly dramatic activism.
@buddy_loveThe moment I saw "The Island" (2005) not getting deserved good reviews but instead those moronic twilights and captain americas in all corners I knew it was down the toilet.
@-Muhammad_Ali-Results of hiring following politics and not competencies
@CJSeneca'you're job is to entertain me not lecture me' Amen to that since i just caught up with watching Barbie, surely one of the biggest examples from the last 5 years where they were totally trying to lecture to the audience. i cannot believe how they messed up what could have been really fun movie with trying to shove feminist politics down my throat at ever turn. I really wanted to like it since the trailer looked great. Then watching i really loved the design of it & Margot Robbie of course. But every time i thought it was getting fun its like they thought 'no you can't fun with this movie until we give you another dose of moral soup'...i endured till the end still holding out hope but it was such a letdown despite the absolute rave reviews at release time. I think alot of people at the time jumped on the 'feminist masterpiece' band wagon because they thought it was cool & were too scared to say they actually hated it.
@musicmadinozThe perfect storm was the best trailer
@kellytippett1302Modern movies have no heart, no soul, no passion, no purpose, no talent and no clue as to what a real movie looks, sounds and feels like. The millennium was the benchmark where it all started to go wrong. I’m sick of movies being more focused on preaching to me and ticking boxes than showing any glimmer of what used to make movies so special. I’m tired of rubbish green screen and crappy CGI. It’s fake, lazy and everything looks like hokey, sterile garbage. I don’t feel like I’m watching characters any more, just actors there for a pay cheque. Theatres are empty because there’s nothing worth paying to see.
