And airports are only getting more expensive. In the early 2000s, some tried to match the price of goods outside the airport. But today, many airports are raising or removing that limit. And there’s little competition inside the terminal — much of the food and retail at the airport is operated by a few massive companies.
So how did airports become so expensive? And why are some raising prices even more?

They are high because corporations are greedy AF, if they could, they would always charge those prices but then everyone would go to the competition. Competition they don't have in the airport.

@jbx1310Have two lanes.. one to go through Duty free and the other to bypass the whole mess altogether...ive nearly missed flights because of queues in duty free.
Also how can airports change a premium for drop-off/pick-ups... its extortionate especially here in the UK.
This is what companies truly want to charge you for stuff, they just can't in the real world because there's someone around the corner who will sell for cheaper. They're complete scumbags through and through.
