Sorry, this video has more holes in it than a block of Swiss cheese. You're telling us that people are leaving Tampa to move 130 miles north to Gainesville because there is less humidity, better traffic, and fewer bugs??? Maybe if you were in Charlotte NC, Atlanta, or Des Moines IA you might have a point. Gainesville, I doubt it. The part about mass transportation is correct; Tampa has none. However, other than RTS and some student transportation around campus, neither does Gainesville. My daughter graduated from UF, I was a frequent visitor and still get through there once or twice a year. With respect to the innuendo that there are no, or maybe fewer, gators in Gainesville, I'd like to bring up The University of Florida GATORS, Albert and Alberta Gator, Go Gators, and The Swamp. There must have been a reason for that. As a final thought, over the last 21 years, the average relative humidity in Gainesville was 56, Tampa was 58. I don't believe your hair will notice that 2% difference. Just sayin

$1,780 is exactly what I pay for my 2/Bd 2/Bath apartment +/- a few dollars or cents. And it’s not new or nice. It is old and poorly maintained. Not the outside, though. They definitely make it look nice from the outside. Otherwise the actual apartments have decades of neglect and low quality maintenance. But something under $2,000 a month is considered “cheap”. Not for me though!

When I say that I'm moving out of Florida, I always get the "good riddance, we don't want you here.. That will help with the home prices, etc" and I'm just like, go ahead and enjoy your terrible weather and hurricanes but I'm over it.

I keep hearing and seeing videos about people leaving Tampa. However, the traffic tells a different story. So how can traffic get so much worse yet more and more people are supposedly leaving. I am a Tampa native and welcome people leaving. It was so nice here before the overcrowding.

Crystal clear blue waters? Don't lie to people lol you sure you're from here? If you want nice beaches you have to go south, Sarasota, Ana Maria island, etc. Clearwater is an overrated, overcrowded dump.

00:00 Intro
I left because it's super overrated: The extreme, unbearable heat and humidity that keeps you indoors about 300 days of the year, the continuous hurricanes (yeah, yeah, yeah, it's been protected and whatever. If you live there, you know that's not true; especially with the flooding). Ridiculous costs of homeowners insurance (especially since so many companies have left the state), car insurance is more than double than in many other areas of the country, utilities are higher than in other areas of the country, salaries are low AF to the point of being insulting, you have disgusting caterpillars hanging from the trees during March and April, so you can't go outside without them getting on you; and the traffic is as bad as in Los Angeles and Orlando. Bye.

01:32 Con 2: Hurricanes and Flooding
My family and I LOVE TAMPA! We moved 3 years ago and cannot regret the move. We came from the Midwest and let me tell you. You would not like that weather in MO more than what you get here in Tampa. All the activities and things you can do here would make for all the things you mentioned in this video except for agreeing everything is more expensive in FL for sure. 👍🏼
02:12 Con 3: Traffic and Poor Public Transportation
02:57 Con 4: Cost of Living
Bad condition of existing roads and never ending road construction.
Also 3 months of rain rain rain. 9 months of drought.
03:42 Con 5: Tourists Everywhere
04:07 Con 6: Mosquitoes, Allergies, & Weird Wildlife
Ppl not leaving! They still coming
04:53 Con 7: Tap Water Taste (It's… Interesting)
05:44 Pro 1: Beautiful Weather (Most of the Year!)
It’s simple, jobs suck, rent is ridiculous and this is an ugly ass worn down looking city anyway. It’s obvious.
06:22 Pro 2: No State Income Tax (More Money in Your Pocket!)
06:45 Pro 3: World-Class Beaches Right Next Door
If you didn’t know Florida was hot in the Summer you are just stupid
07:28 Pro 4: Booming Job Market & Strong Economy
08:15 Pro 5: Thriving Sports & Entertainment Scene
But what about the sinkholes? To me, the thought of your home being gobbled up by the ground, is my number one problem, why I want to leave.
08:47 Pro 6: Fantastic Food Scene (Especially Cuban & Seafood)
09:16 Pro 7: Tampa International Airport – Easy Travel & Low Stress
Another thing to consider: Tampa, Florida is on the brink of an unprecedented transformation—one that has been branded as a forward-thinking urban overhaul but carries chilling undertones of control. Under the guise of the M.O.V.E.S. plan (Mobility, Opportunity, Vision, Equity, and Safety), Tampa is set to become one of the world’s next “15-minute cities.”
Bill Gates, alongside Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik, is driving this billion-dollar project. They’ve already locked down 40 acres of prime downtown real estate to transform Water Street into a high-tech urban playground. But here’s where it gets real: this isn’t just an urban development plan. This is a blueprint for turning Tampa into a controlled environment where mobility and autonomy are slowly stripped away, and the elite pull the strings. This is not paranoia—it’s the truth.

Why Bill Gates And Jeff Vinik Are Investing Billions To Build An Ecosystem In Tampa Florida.
Construction began earlier this year, and within 10 years, the city will look nothing like the Tampa of today. With Vinik’s vision, it will be a model city of the future. M.O.V.E.S. plan (Mobility, Opportunity, Vision, Equity, and Safety)

I'll say that homeowners insurance is awful here. Flood insurance is avoidable if you find the tight peoperty. They've got to fix the cost of insurance.
@TheRealHeavyGThe weather in the summer is rough, but you can still do outdoor activities. You just need to hydrate and be ready to sweat. I joy boating, fishing, and jet skis in the summer. You'll just be sweaty. If you enjoy these activities year round, its still a great place to be.
@TheRealHeavyGNice information, but it's the Colombian restaurant, not Columbian.
@PollRevereHow about I-75? It's a parking lot in the Tampa area during rush hour.
@PollRevereEverybody should just move to Gainesville FL. It is the best place in Florida. Please leave Tampa…
@_k911Tampa does not have a boomerang job market anymore. Its been that way since at least 2023. In fact I been here for the last 20 years, stop lieing to people.
@darkherosolidoxIt’s boring, 1 boring convention center nothing happens there. Baltimore Maryland food scene is 20x better than Tampa food scene which isn’t saying much. The south has great weather period. Tampa jobs are terrible and low paying because of the tax. The job market is not booming she named companies that have been here for 80 years there is no new job growth. Yea there is a lot of old people so there are low paying medical jobs if you can find or want one in the area. Traffic is horrendous absolutely horrendous you will spend 70% of your life in traffic. The people are snobbish and rude. The public schools are the worse in the country and crime is terrible. Your car can be stolen while you’re sitting in it.
@nolaneli295WHY are you moving here? Florida has become unlivable in the summer now. Those of you who complain about the snow or cold weather - it's just as unlivable outside for five months in Florida as it is in the winter. You will hate it.
@Dallas1722Its horrible here stay away everyone😂😂 PLEASE
@johnnyoldenjr.Why Are People Leaving Tampa FL? Winter ended and the snowbirds went home. It happens every year.
@PepeA79thI’ll be honest. I recently visit Tampa and the surrounding areas, and I was not impressed at all. Besides the downtown areas, the beaches, and pretty video clips showcased in every YouTube videos, Tampa Bay looks very run down. I’m from Northern Virginia, and I found Tampa and other cities to be very expensive! The high cost of living, taxes, utilities, car insurance, food prices, etc. are higher then Northern Virginia! The “no state income tax” is a complete joke because Florida will find a way by charging more in other amenities to recoup money. The infrastructure and pot holes are ridiculous, especially around Hyde Park Village. Florida is definitely overrated and overhyped.
@ronrodriguez9748All jobs pay $16 hour and the rent is 2k for 2bed

@floridalivingwithtammyWe were looking to retire there...the way you make it sound it would be a great place. You don't talk about the extremely violent crimes, gangs or insurance being insane since covid. I can't trust anyone who doesn't think that these things are worse than humidity..?
