Why Don't Real Madrid Produce Any Great Players?
Video Overview & Insights
Real Madrid are arguably the biggest club in world football, their academy is among the largest and best-funded on the planet, and they have more former youth team players competing in La Liga and Europe's top five leagues as a whole than any other club.
considering Real Madrid still is by far the most successful club in history means this method worked out, all that talent Barca produced Real Madrid still won more UCL's without the controversy Barca is known for and admitted to.
There's just one small problem... They haven't actually produced any truly great players for the last 20 years.
So in this video, HITC Sevens takes a look at the dearth of world class talent to have come out of Real Madrid's La Fábrica youth ranks since the days of Raúl and Iker Casillas, the reasons behind that anomaly, especially in relation to their El Clasico rivals Barcelona & La Masia, and why Real Madrid don't actually seem to mind.
It is definitely interesting to see the difference in philosophy between Madrid and Barcelona in terms of youth development.

@patogoomzzTheir academy is literally called..La Fabrica. Its not shocking that it's operated like a football factory.
@cdubs9918🤔ONLY #CanadaSoccerAssociation (CSA)⚽️ cares about the football world & culture...🇨🇦💘⚽️ #TorontoFC⚽️ is the greatest football club in #MajorLeagueSoccer⚽️ (MLS) history and future of football has ever seen or will see. These clubs will do wonders if the big five #CanadianBanks like #TDBank💳 sponsor this sport. #CreditUnion like #MeridianCU💳 can bring the magic of football culture home. 🌎💘⚽️
@luckyloonie1359Funny enough, the biggest star to come out of Real Madrid's academy system is not even a footballer. It's a basketballer, Luka Doncic.
@methos4866Because the REal Madrid academy is crap
@Xoman08Cos they can afford to let everyone else do the hard work. The world (and mostly Brazil recently.) Is their Academy.
Reduces risk, they'd rather pay for a player with a good chance of making it, makes things easier. Since they're the most attractive club to any player in the world and all that...
They just put the money into scouting instead.
Its pronounced La Faaabrica. Emphasize the A. “La FrAbrica”
@OverallhealthwellnessCarvajal is a fluke then lol?
Guy is a 6 times ucl winner.
Who said real madrid dont have good academy .our academy compared to other may not be good but we have produced many good talented players like valverde hakimi odegard raul ascensio fran garcia and many.Compared to Barcelona,sporting, Dortmund we do not have academy that is as good as them
@CRSreeSome of Madrid's academy players are the best in their positions while others are very good, some include: Raúl González, Iker Casillas, Alvaro Morata, Nacho Fernández, Casemiro Dani Carvajal, Marco Asensio, David de la Red, Juan Mata, Sergio Reguilón, José Antonio Reyes, Álvaro Odriozola, Javi Sánchez, Sergio Ramos, Carlos Salgado, Pedro León, Borja Mayoral, Ángel Di María, Ruben de la Red, Esteban Granero, Pablo Sarabia, Dani Poyatos, Kiko Casilla, Antonio Adán, Raúl de Tomás, Fran García, Ángel Gutiérrez, Miguel Gutiérrez, Dani Gómez, Martin Ødegaard, Luka Romero, Javier Hernández, Ricardo Carvalho, Rubén Yáñez, Sergio Díaz, Raúl Bravo, Alberto Bueno, Javier Muñoz, Fran Sol, Borja González, Juan José, Roa José, Enrique Carlos, Martín Miguel, Ángel García, Antonio Núñez, Oscar Plano and the list is much..... Most academy players spend time in morethan one Football academy, usually many starts from a lower academy before being scouted and transferred to a bigger academy
@Big_Man8116:53 And now He , Raul Asensico is the #1 CB starter at Real Madrid ❤
@Z71990BecUse they buy them. Next question.
@galazoreYou can only make it to the first team if you manage to outcompete stars from other clubs.
@mtw7503Thats the reason they never freakin go out of funds and shit as they know emotions dont mean shit when it comes to business. Great players will come and go but club will stay forever this mentality makes this club so relevant in my opinion . I am not glazing them whatsover . From a liverpool fan.
@ArmanMustafa-ie2oiAll the if not most of the players promoted to Brokalona's 1st team from their academy is a needs must basis rather than purely on what they truly wanted, because of how terrible they are with their finances.
@davidbarker7091They prefer a already done product
@samueladorno478Tell me you have Zero Knowledge without telling me you have Zero Knowledge of football.
This video right here.
PS: The difference it's this. Madrid don´t need to tell a TALE about his academy. Others do, and people eat that TALE like morons and fools. Hey! Like you.
Really? Raul is what? Carvajal is what? Hierro is what ? Salgado is what? This is but a few…..
@obainomilanoNico Paz is worth a pretty penny
@SanchoWesSo Carvajal is not world class but there gk is and Pedro and other kids logic
@abriefintroduction5500Casillas
@KawhiGlazer2-c7qbecuase real madrid only buys the top players from other countries by giving them huge payouts.And it's why I prefer the premier league there is just more competition compared to La liga and in La liga it's basicly madrid smurfing
@thatmemeguy2520We do.
But we sell them.
They buy all of them
@bullymaguire9529Lorente Odegard Hakimi Theo Valvarde even Carvajal and Nacho
@Prinrw8kpWhy have the patience with a young player when you have the budget for more proven talent?
@JDRedwineRM the best!!! Hala Madrid!!!
@TVAccount-f7sSimple, it’s because Real Madrid is a brand. Players who are great but have no name recognition to sell jerseys will never get a call to play for Madrid anymore. Instead of investing in young talent they just buy them in their prime
@juans835624:10 Barcelona getting Neymar keeps Fiorentino up at night. If Neymar had stayed and won the Ballon Door, then I'm fairly sure that Fiorentino would have attempted to buy the entire Brazilian National Team Regardless of where they play because like the fuck.
@RorschDG-2RM only cares about money-making and dominance. They don’t care about the players legacy and don’t pay respect to their former legends. Don’t forget the case of CR7
@mountaindew3201I thought you knew ball
@AndresMoreno-ll9mtHow many ignorants in this comments! Real Madrid provides more players from
Is Academy than any team
in Europe!! The second one is Benfica. Real Madrid provide the ten per 3:01 cent of players in La liga
Johah Cruyff built his team by sacking almost all the homegrown players and sobstitute them with Basque players and foreigners bought with hard cash. Exceptions were starters Guardiola and Ferrer, and quality substitute Amor. And in his last succesful year Sergi. When he began to promore local talent again he falied miserably. And this was before the Bosman ruling, and in a time that Spanish football got penauts for TV rights. Don't beleive in fairytales
@BoredoutofmywitsLa Fábrica ("The Factory") or translated to ("The fabric of football").
@TonyHerrick_FDTActually for many players it's difficult to change from the 2nd to the first team. Even if the 2nd team is in the 2nd tier. I think a difference between Real Madrid and other clubs is that other clubs often put players that don't make this leap immediately on loan, while Real Madrid just sells them.
@rfvtgbzhn22:54 recruiting players from the own youth was much more important in the old days. Firstly because financial differences weren't that great between "big" and "small" clubs in the old days and secondly because the Bosman ruling changed a lot: before that you couldn't just get players without a contract for free and the number of foreign players was limited.
@rfvtgbzhnReal Madrid City needs a bowling Alley.
@nicestoriesnottherealstori3006yes and no. you can’t compare to barca and use barca as a example becuz nobody will ever be barca in terms of developing players they are beyond any sort of level . madrid has some players
@fuhjrvr7474Now I understand why Spain usually thrives when Barcelona has amazing young players. And why Spain's winning teams usually have a handful of Real Madrid players.
@artshouse7159Carvajal was and is, inarguably, world class. I dont know what you're smoking
