Hollywood is just a reflection of what society has become. Female "main character" syndrome who gets pushed to the top. Didn't earn it. Doesn't have the skills. And it's failure shows that females are just not equal to competent male actors just because they are females.

Its feminism that's destroying most industries, just like the Hollywood movie business. Most action movies are based on exaggeration of reality. Every conflict is in reality shouldered by men. Women dont take on the responsibility of dealing with conflicts, killings and large scale offensive action or defensive action. Yes, there are rare exceptions, but generally speaking its men doing the heavy lifting. So when we see women doing things in movies which they don't do in reality, without even actively thinking about it, we sub consciously know that its deceptive. We cannot suspend reality to believe that a female lead can do what they are showing.

I wonder if ChatGPT isn't part of the problem. Great story like great cooking needs slow development time, studio heads have always put pressure on creators since they're comparative environment is S&P500 performance, that's not new. But now producers are armed with ChatGPT, they can take over parts of the creative process, or at least inject much more convincing 'notes' that increase the pressure on the writing process even more. Then add on top the declining environment post-pandemic and I think this is why Hollywood has turned to shit. In a more confident era, you would not get this pandering to social media wokery, but in this environment everyone there has become hyper-insecure and susceptible.

We need more original stories that have a thoughtful, planned plot and is made for the paying demographic. If Hollywood keeps pushing "the message" and pander to the minority, it will die. When it does, its former audience will look on with apathy.

@dimibe918Everything said here is true, just to add to these points, I think hollywood started making movies for gen z but the gen z is not interested in movies as millennials are. They basically ditched their existing market to serve a different market.
Another controversial opinion, I think there is massive decline in the quality of talent entering the movies. Top tier talent are attracted more towards social media, they want to be influencers than actors i believe.
Lastly competing avenues of entertainment and decreased attention span.

@Outplayed5962It used to take years for movie to reach streaming. You’d go to the theater because otherwise you have to wait for the dvd rentals sales to dip before you could buy/rent the movie online. Now they release them simultaneously, so yeah, why spend more?

Woke is a part of issue of hollywood ( but the problem is Woke itself has lost it's meaning because of over-use. There's nothing wrong with politically strong movies , but can You make a good story while still putting politics ? There's many games I play that's politics. I dislike political talking but my favorite games are based on Politics inside the game. Sure it's not Inclusivity related , but what I mean is even for these political stuff , just balance things out . The feminist hollywood is also a massive issue , and I bet even most women who watch movies can call it out , I'm certainly calling it out , cause if they wanna make strong female characters , atleast write them properly without making them look toxic and stuff. @robertmcnamara129Here I am, Feb 2026, and not one thing has changed. Disney basically remade Snow White; Guess what? The lead destroyed her career before it got started. The only movie I'm looking forward to is Godzilla Minus Zero. If it's half as good as Minus One it'll be the film of the year. ( This channel did a vid on Minus One, go check it out ).The last ten years I have only wanted to see three movies at the cinema. JOKER, the original one, not the tripe sequel, TGM, at IMAX, twice, loved it, and 28 Years Later. I'll wait for the next one to stream, not paying cinema prices for that.
The last "Blockbuster"I went to see was The Force Awakens. That did it for me. How could anyone f$^& up THAT IP?? But they did. TLJ? I torrented that just in case. Couldn't make it to the end. Trouble is, now I know where they are taking it, it's ruined the original movies for me.... And, Oh yeah, Disney? We KNOW Han fired first. Screw you.
