The only reason I don’t have a 5090 is because I don’t have the cash, but to answer the question if I really need it, I obviously don’t. It’s like a Lamborghini, I have no intention on driving 200 miles per hour, but I’d still like to cruise around town in it. That’s being said, in this environment when people ask me PC questions, I steer them towards the 9060 xt and 9070 xt.

Froggy, it makes literally ZERO sense how you can miss a 5070Ti when you have a 5090 man. Like you really make zero sense whatsoever brother. I also have a 5090 and not once have a I thought 'Oh man, wish I had a 5070Ti' ...genuine cartoon character mate. Did the same tbh, got the 5090, ended up limiting most games to 60fps because of the power draw at full chat so sold it for a nice profit which paid for my 5080.
Basically got the 5080 for free.
I got lucky and got an 5090FE on launch here in the UK £1800 used it for 12> months then sold it for £3200 the 5080 cost me £1100 after selling fees and some very expensive postage and insurance I think I was £60 out of pocket for the 5080.
These are crazy times.

5090 is overkill if you are not using it for work as well with a 5090 you can brute force everything but they are very risky for intensive tasks because they have a tendency to melt cables and fail over time not to mention the power draw is enormous and so will your power bill 5080 is a little safer but it’s also very expensive when compared price to performance with a 5070 TI and the gains are minimal.
@germainetaylor17579070 or 9060XT are sweet spot, all you need is to avoid RT and you can have a card that is good for next 10 years.

DLSS Models M and L looks better than Fsr 4.1 its closer to model K and the frame generation on amd needs a lot of work on frame pacing having a 4k QD-OLED 240Hz the pacing issue is more noticeable

@StevenI09When it comes down to you saying do you need a 5090? No you don't.
I believe the better take isn't exactly that and more get the best parts that you can afford. If you are only gaming don't go ryzen 9 x3d do ryzen 7 x3d. That's where the difference in price and performance literally almost doesn't do anything for you for specifically gaming. When it come's to everything else get literally the best you can comfortably afford. Don't stretch yourself uncomfortably so but consider, both the xbox and ps5 are more expensive after 6 years which is historic. First time ever you pay more for the same level of compute in the same platform and form factor. The level of compute that is available to the 5090 is going to increase and we have no idea when and if the AI bubble will pop. Something that is unique about AI vs literally ever other bubble ever is this is the next decider of power internationally politically. Meaning the first country to meaningfully create an AI not this stupid LLM bs we have currently will be at the throne of power in the new age we are entering so the idea of too big to fail hits harder here than any bank or air port. I wouldn't be surprised if different world governments step and to add life over and over again to that system. I fear we may be entering a time where you need to buy whatever is the highest level of computer you can afford now and get ready to adapt to a future where you stream everything to client boxes. Little shell computers that are designed to stream content vs render it minimum electronics and memory. This is why I updated both my desktop and laptop completely early in this generation. I hope I am wrong and this comment ages poorly.
