Gosh, this post didn't age all that well. As of 2026, here's the data:
If you’re looking for states with the most stable, predictable population churn, the winners are:
Most Stable
• Northeast: CT, MA, RI, NY, NJ
• Midwest: OH, MI, IL, WI, MN
Least Stable (High Churn)
• Texas, Florida, Arizona, Idaho, Utah, Colorado
These patterns reflect long‑term demographic projections, not just short‑term migration noise.

The very high property tax makes up for no state income tax. When you eventually retire. Youll still be paying that high property tax annually forever. Home paid for but every year close to 10 grand in property tax. The state owns your home. You rent it for rest of your life

Don't move to Texas, specifically DFW. Overpriced, underwhelming. From someone who has lived here 30+ YEARS
those $350,000 homes are garbage. No realtor will tell you that

Texas is the last place on earth I thought I would live it sucks here all year long thanks to my wife's job Toyota I now live in Texas now for 8 years and have hated it every second of the 8 years nothing for me here I hate it here
@NATOHA-64Back in 2005 I moved to TX and I loved it. I lived in Corpus Christi.
The reason I left was the situation I was in and I was worried about my sister in MN.
After I figured out what was going on with my sister I should have gone back but it was too soon because of the situation I had been in and I feared for my life if I went back.
Well I went back to Las Vegas NV since I knew I could without any problems.
Now it looks like I won't make it back. My health is an issue and since I don't drive I guess I will end up dying here.
But you got it right. Texas is and always will be the best place to live.
Mike Las Vegas NV
Leave my Texas alone.
@angelicavallejo3525If you have any thing, I should know before I travel to Texas would you let me know Johnny Blume
@johnnyblume5469I’m moving in one year gonna be traveling me looking for a new start
@johnnyblume5469Thank you for your review
@adegbolaoluwawamiri3027Kids schooling information missing
@SamiUllah-yu1mlI want to move to DFW so bad.
@crimjqt83@LIVINGINDALLAS you forgot to mention our THIRD national park: Padre Island National Seashore!
@spikeup08If you can snag $100k (or less) loan, you can get a plot of land and drop a double wide on it out in rural Texas. Take that, let the land appreciate, sell it and build a house. People do it all the time in Texas. If you don't have the money to get a house on the market like so many, this is your way to get in and immediately get your own wealth.
Now taxes. Texas does not have estate or income tax. BUT if you are a property owner, the taxes can be rather steep - even on a homestead exemption. It almost doubled the cost of my mortgage but according to others, it's still affordable in the end.
This is the best video of Texas I’ve seen. I’ve been thinking about moving here lately
@Jawsh_emYup, come to the Great State, just leave the old ways behind e.g. CA and NY 😏🤠
@rolandmalone5431I moved to Texas seven years ago from New Jersey and never ever looking back again
@JessicaGrecco-ll7guIts not the greatest state!
@johnamacio4905Texas is a Walmart parking lot
@Aye_NyneIm a Gen Z texan born and raised and i probably will never be able to buy a house here. Theyre turning this place into California. The quaint little suburb i grew up in is over run with shopping complexes and over priced coffee shops. Sad
@a.h.i267I don’t know where rent is $1200 anymore. Texas is my home and housing prices have skyrocketed!! Unless you are a realtor I don’t think any Texans are happy about this insane growth! Our beautiful beloved communities are getting ruined by all the newcomers and construction. Great video and information but TX has inflated like crazy over the last 10 years and salaries haven’t changed much. I love my state but all the newcomers have ruined so much of our true TX! Talk to any Texan that’s not a realtor, we all feel the same. Many Texans have been pushed out of there areas after years because their quiet suburbs have been destroyed by ugly cookie cutter homes. It’s very very sad. Great info but don’t encourage people to move here. lol.
@hollyriley9848Great video Levi, but dude!!!!!!…regarding the baseball teams WHY do you have a pic of the Atlanta Braves instead of the TEXAS RANGERS???? I mean we are WORLD CHAMPS!!! 😂
@txfight16Im from Slovenia haha. And i wanted to move to Texas for a long long time
@sunbrahI'm a Washingtonian planning to leave this state eventually. I cannot stand the cold weather of Washington. When visiting Dallas, I could walk in 100 F weather with a massive smile. Could this place be for me? Of course, I plan on going more south because there is still snow in cities like Austin.
I'm sick of having to stay indoors for the majority of the year here in Washington. It's so depressing.
I lived here unfortunately for 35 years I am moving to Washington State in June I cannot wait to get out of this hell hole. Housing prices are crazy right now and all the very cool things about Austin have been taken away because they cannot afford the rent if you're a woman don't move here you're treated like crap. Education is ridiculous it's terrible. The two ministers that are hanging out in Dallas Richardson area that have billions of dollars have said they think education is a waste of time and all we have to do is read the Bible. The heat is ridiculous and the drought and all the bugs that follow. People are not nice there is no Southern Hospitality here and talk about Too Faced they will stab you in the back after they say well bless your heart
@gailgioI was born and raised in Texas my whole life and Texas is the greatest country in the world
@bendeleon4696Born and raised here as well. Excellent info and so much relo in DFW!
@SteveWright-o5dHigh property and sales taxes not knocking Texas. It's a fine state if you can ignore the politics. Wife's best friend lives in Texas. I myself, as a otr truck driver, spent a lot of time coming and going to Texas. My concern about Texas is the struggling power grid as my wife friend has said she has had to take her and her children to a hotel to escape to sniffling heat during some of the blackouts. And there's some concern over the water. People complain it's not weird taste to it. But the state government want to address it.
@esham976Yes. I love the Texas weather. The winters are less harsh than here in W. TN. I’m looking forward to moving back.
@TheIronCrownNotaryI moved to Dallas from Seattle, after living there for 15 years. I only lived in Dallas for three months, before moving to Houston.
@EvangelistRBColbertYou forgot to mention one very important reason: To live in a more conservative social environment (not including Austin - would NEVER move there). This is THE MAIN REASON why our family is moving there soon, and why MANY other people we know have already moved there. Our son is already in San Antonio and we're headed there soon. Thanks for the video
@kikisdragonI’m moving.
