Here's my take

Roll for initiative,
The big bad evil's here,
First's the barbarian,
he'd like to rage again.
he rolls a natural one,
No damage turn is done,
The wizard makes a plan,
he grabs his staff with both his hands.
The bard starts to defend,
Trying to protect his friends,
Obstructing line of sight,
By casting minor illusion.
The big bad evil swings,
Nine points of bludgeoning,
and now itโs time weโve had enough
[Pre-Chorus]
The wizard raises his staff
and chants,
The party braces themselves
If they can,
the tension fills the air
but the villians don't seem to care
The wizard casts a . . .,
[evil voice]"Not so fast, ha ha!"

Big bad evil minions,
Counter-spell the wizard,
They snuck behind your party,
Now youโre properly surrounded.

The party tries to run,

the last thing he'll do is take them down.

an inferno in his eyes.

@RicardoSantos-z6vOne of my favorite moments in D&D was when we got attacked by ettercaps and I realized that there was a 20-foot radius circle with most of the enemies in it, as well as three out of five PCs, each of whom was covered in webs and had either fire resistance or evasion.

@LJgl3weYanno, this is why I play Paladin with Oath of Ancients. You can go ahead and drop a Fireball on my head. I've got Cha bonus to my saving throw and Resistance to damage from Spells. Oh, and so does the other party members within ten feet of me. Dude had a Cha of 20, but an Int of 8. Bro was basically a half-elven golden retriever. Big ol' himbo who just couldn't understand why everyone was upset at the wizard, and maybe everyone just needs a big hug.

In real life I have
1 evacuated the 3 story scince building foe the entire day when one of my chemistry experiments couldn't be controlled under "the hood"

3 set myself on fire when my 6 and 7 yo grand daughters started to chant fire fire, pants on fire at me. I stood the in the middle of a real life fireball, calmly telling them I would not put myself out until they apologized.
I'm not a fantasy wizard. I''m a real life professor with multiple STEM degrees who WILL cat fireball in a crowded room.
So I have the authority to state that this version is a downgrade.

You can do so much damage as you level up AND you can make sure your party makes the dex save

@JesseGraves-li6lwSome of your songs popped up on my yt music shuffle, with the rise of slop I wasn't sure if this was a real band or not, glad I dug around. My intuition was saying real, but with people stealing songs to add slop lyrics over it I wasn't completely sure.
@AnthroFox99A 4 fucking year campaign ended, by a wizard shouting out Fireball and chanting a song. It was a 9th level spell slot dealing 14d6 fire damage inside a medium sized room against the Big Bad Guy. We all failed our saving throws, the wizard and the Big Bad Guy survived. Then the wizard said uhh nope, and fucking left. Now we have a new campaign to kill the evil wizard who killed off the heroโs of the land and the dark evil ruler of everyone.
