Every time I try to search for comedy videos about a specific topic, YouTube's garbage AI pulls up informative videos. I'll try something like "when the person you're talking to is passive aggressive funny" and I get nothing but self-help videos or tricks to spot narcissistic behavior. You can't search for anything anymore without it forcing you to give up and go down some rabbit hole instead. With videos, the search bar is useless, but hot damn they'll be glad to show you a few Shorts that are somewhat related.

YouTube Shorts isn't better though considering it's packed with garbage memes that steal clips and edit in 30 sound effects to play in a 5 second timespan. I used to watch 5 Shorts that were related to the topic before YouTube was like "Hey dude. Do you wanna watch something else or should I stay on track with the same topic?" Now YouTube's just like "Yeah you've watched 1 or 2 Shorts about this so we're just gonna go ahead and move on to the next thing. M'kay? Don't care." I also can't stand seeing those Shorts that have a paragraph of information but they highlight specific words to make you get the jist of what they're trying to say without having to read the full message. Kids already have a low attention span. You're seriously trying to simplify a paragraph to keep the doomscrolling going?

And you can't watch Live videos because Roblox Livestream Scammers litter the feed with their prerecorded looped videos. "Guys, I'm literally about to do it. I'm literally about to call 911. If I get three more people to send me a LAUGHING DISCO, then I'll call them." It's either those douchebags or some fat dude sleeping in a chair. There's no integrity whatsoever except in the rare chance that you find someone who is passionate about retro video games.

Not sure if anyone else has taken note of this like I have but ever since PewDiePie was dethroned by T-Series, and corporations took over, YouTube has become a landfill of shit. No one cares about making genuine content anymore.

This is true but another problem I have is that if I search "benefits of b12" it'll never find me a related video when all the titles are "this miracle vitamin will do wonders for you!" or "your not tired, you're missing THIS!" or "you HAVE to try this supplement or you'll DIE"

Im defence of youtube, their search has gotten better at retrieving what people want hence the growth. I would criticise them for getting rid of the dislike button count and how monetisation increasingly favours the company, advertisers and governments over creators. But search has improved. For one thing, upload format doesn't matter anymore, videos are just videos from the user perspective.
