Video Overview & Insights

Music: A-to-Z

muisca muito pica mas quando apareceu ''source of life'' e uma aranha feia pra caralho eu dei um sorriso de orelha a orelha pqp Kino

What I really like about this boss is that it looks like an insect. It makes sense. Insects, and arthropods in general, are some of the earliest forms of life. They mark the beginning of "contemporary" life, per say. Important life. Life that has eyes, life that has a brain. Forms of life that have endured until the modern day. It's pretty cool 👍

This was also why Origin of Life was my personal pick for God Bosses most heroes slay gods to save life, Adol slays god to say goodbye to Dana.

Most Ys titles have you fighting a powerful being that's the main antagonist themself (Dark Fact, Darm/Dalles, Cain Fact) or the machinations of the main antagonist (Galbalan). Ys VIII has you fight the Origin of Life to earn the opportunity to meet Dana one last time before she assumes her responsibilities as a Goddess of Evolution.

Singa (mostly) nailed the mix this time. Kick is still louder than the snare for some reason. Not as muddy as his usual stuff, and his worst VST (the guitar lead) is kept in the background for the violin lead to come through.

0:48 This part reminds me of Date A Live Season 1 OP. So cool.

I heard this in a Yugioh replay video as background music. I think I like it.

8/10 what does the title of this track mean does it mean alpha and omega or does it mean that were fighting the literal origin of life

@deborabarreto8355

First time I saw the song name, I have big question of "A" and "Z", after played the game
I guess "A" means the first Maiden of Great Tree - IO, and "Z" is the last one - Dana
the meaning of song name is : from the first to the last.
just match the reason of why IO trials Dana with the battle.

That little guy became a big guy, oh god.

EDIT: I kinda like how there's not much explanation for Origin's existence (I mean, I guess what IS there to explain that isn't already in the title?). You just get one last epic battle with this powerful opponent.

If possible I'd like to replay the whole game on hardmode with solo adol (equpped with those medals you get from the post-game dungeon). This boss is sure to be one hell of an experience like that.

I came into this blind, no pots, no rez, nothing. All I knew was it was do or die, and there was no way I was dying saving my girl who died for me. I jumped around like a rabid monkey. Love you Dana.

@Kendelon

At this point, you'll do anything for Dana. And the game knows it.

More like final boss theme this is Adol's theme, perfectly describing his wild resolution to see Dana one last time and refusing to forget her no matter what. This is pure art.

This battle is probably one of the most unique final bosses I've seen in an rpg from a story perspective. You're fighting the primordial source of all life, literally the physical embodiment of the fundamental concept that is life itself, and you're doing it for the sole purpose of being able to see a friend one more time. Not even to save her, just to see her and be able to say goodbye properly. And it manages to do this in a way that's more compelling than almost any other final boss I've ever seen, because I genuinely did want to see Dana again, perhaps more than I wanted to stop the Lacrimosa.
