It’s obviously going to be Atlanta, Houston and Phoenix but the last one is going to be tricky it’ll be between Kansas City, Quebec City, Austin or New Orleans. There’s a limited market overall basically it’s watered down but as for players and staff not at all there’s enough to fill in the roster and staff members.

The non-traditional markets were a bad idea from the start. If they keep expanding in these markets it will be a roller coaster.
And when NHL hits its peak, the league will suddenly drop. It's just a question of how far and if the NHL will survive, or collapse.
Not happening. I think Atlanta, Hartford, Phoenix, and Quebec City should get 4 NHL expansion teams.

@QuocNguyen-ly2lwI live near Cincinnati, I would love a NHL team here. But, Columbus is too close for this region. I could see Indianapolis or Louisville being more of a better fit in this region. These 2 cities could be a natural rival for Columbus, Chicago, St. Louis, and Nashville. And this region has a lot of smaller cities to pull from. Lexington KY, Dayton OH, Evansville IN, and Bloomington Illinois. Cincinnati could draw from these cities also, but not as centrally located like Indy and Louisville. From what I hear, the owners of Cincinnati FC have been in talks with the NHL. They have plans for an arena near their soccer stadium along with development of the area around. Like hotels and shops. Plus, the Cyclones do very well in attendance. I went last year (it’s been a long time since I went to a game), and it was packed. And their season wasn’t to great. Idk, if these fans would pay NHL prices. But, they shell out money to see the Bengals.

@KnightBoatI live in SW Ohio and Cincinnati is just too lowbrow for hockey, I remember the Stingers and went to several of their games and the usual draw was about 4000 in attendance. The team had Mark Messier, Mike Gartner, Barry Melrose and Mike Liut. I saw Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky when they were with the Aeros and Racers. So when the video stated that hockey culture was not as entrenched here that was an understatement, it depends on how many people are originally from other parts of the country that would be attending games.

@kimyeung5307Thanks to the idiocy of a certain owner in phoenix, Utah got the benefit of not having to go through the normal expansion process. Although it has definitely had its own hiccups for sure given the unusual nature of everything. In the long run a lot of stuff you're very happy we got to come up with their own identity. Yes there are coyotes in Utah, but considering the state's history of its fossil remnants of dinosaurs and yes mammoth, but also in both snow and ice the hell a lot more than Arizona ever did. But I know a lot of stuff you're hoping that Phoenix can get a new franchise once they get this arena disaster straightened out down there. Because they no longer have that horrible jackass to deal with as far as ownership goes.

@BobSaxon-ou7wwI remember when the NHL decided to add 2 teams for the 1992 season, Milwaukee was at first seen as a shoe in. They backed out during the selection process because the NHL was asking $50 million for an expansion fee. Meanwhile, the Penguins (with Lemieux and about to win 2 cups) sold for under $40 million. There was talk they would buy a team to move to Milwaukee, but nothing ever happened.

@rileyholden-zc9ipmilwaukee-NO. hawks wont allow it. cincy-NO. too close to bj's with outdated arena. move bj's nhl most misplaced team to cincy. portland-HELL NO. no pro teams for portland until they clean up their civil unrest. austin who would have to beat out houston for texas team-POSSIBLE. a boom city with no other big time pro sports teams there and would have just ut, college, h s football, sec to compete against with no suitable arena.
sd when they get that new arena and only padres to compete against or n o once pelicans leave leaves an opening there with only saints in town and bettman loves hot ass humid markets with less competition. these would be better u s options.
