Streaming services shoving ads in our faces, demanding an additional fee for the ad-free entertainment they used to provide is just disgustingly shameless, bare-faced corporate greed. I guarantee they're sitting in their offices right now giggling at the fact they can do this and get away with it, because they know enough people don't have the energy or willpower to oppose it due to the fact that it's probably more convenient just to go along with it. I refuse to support this.

There is a lot we can do about it, make people more aware of the fact that it can only bring disadvantages, the price can skyrocket and they can remove your favorite series from the server. With VHS or DVD you always have the series at home.

@redghostknight55There are a lot of free movies with ads on YT. The Hunger Games is free with ads. The ads are not that intrusive.
@LilannBI remember when they put ads on VHS tapes before the movie played. It's nothing new is all about money.

@WickedPawndotcomWe use Tubi frequently (tons of Scooby Doo and old cartoons). Also, grab an over the air antenna and you can watch tons of live sports and local content.

@gabbodj95Big swifty here Spencer 👌 freevee you can get in the UK as well as pluto TV but I'm not sure about tubi. They are good but I don't mind ads on prime tbh they're quite short as well.

@SubilonI honestly dont use any "real" streaming services. More often than not, im watching stuff on Youtube, and for music, i still use Pandora. As for live sports and local news, im still using an antenna. I always get the strangest looks from people when i tell them i just use an antenna. I am interested in CBC Gem, but i already have physical copies of my favorite Canadian shows. The Red Green Show, Corner Gas, and Letterkenny, so im pretty well set.

It's great as a community Netflix alternative (if you don't mind the upfront server cost)
Yeah, I turned to piracy as soon as I saw they added ads on Prime Video. It's just not worth it paying for a service if I get a better experience by sailing the high seas.
