I got a Series X in 2024 for $350 with 5 games installed on it and I felt like I overpaid for a 4 year old console at the time… And the Xbox didn’t even looked like it was used more than a year… Now, I feel like I got an heist with that price in 2026 😂😂😂

@silentblackholeGot my series X at GameStop on sale plus a promo for 425 in 2024 what an investment, not financial, as i dont care about that, but being able to partake in current releases plus dev mode with all those retro goodies.

For years they’ve struggled with console sales, and now they’re putting many of their biggest exclusives on other platforms instead of keeping them exclusive. They’ve also spent years pushing Game Pass, cloud gaming, and subscriptions as the future. That makes it feel like they’re moving away from the identity that made xbox what it is.
Then there’s this price hike. Asha Sharma recently said gaming is becoming too expensive, yet xbox turns around and raises console prices by $100–150. That feels completely backwards. If you’re trying to bring more people into your ecosystem, making your hardware more expensive doesn’t seem like the right move.
When you combine all of that with reports that the next xbox could be significantly more expensive, I don’t see a clear long-term direction anymore. It feels like a company trying to maximize revenue while it still can rather than one that’s confident about where it’s headed.
I could be wrong, but this price increase doesn’t feel like a normal business decision to me. It feels like one of the biggest signs yet that this is the end.
I just saw a switch 2, open box for 400, and was soooooo tempting to get, instead of waiting for a v2/oled version because im afraid the price will be insane, shame the switch 2 screen is such a dealbreaker for me

@RohitVerma-hf9nsI would get a handheld device so I can take my gaming wherever I go. Xbox at the higher prices aren't really worth paying higher for the same devices you could have gotten for a few dollars cheaper. This is a reflection of the state of our economy right now! @Panda-masterrSeeing the increase of all these computer parts, I see why Xbox wanted you to play anywhere. They knew that costs were going up and not many people were going to buy the hardware. People are buying more portable PC's. PlayStations increase the price of their console. I think game pass is the best option for playing a great games. Your just better off playing games on a low entry PC
