I was a metal head in the 80s ..of course. Lol. So, Pop songs....good ones, we listens by ourselves when buddies weren't around lol.
I was dating a girl that loved this song and...it seems every time we were alone and.... well, doing want teens do, this song was on at some point.
So, it is part of a special memory. But...this version is so... Melancholy...sad almost. The original is so upbeat.
I beleive this is a good measure of a good song. When it's changed and still holds up or is even better.
Btw....I don't think I ever new the chorus ended in...."In a day or two...." Until I heard this version lol.

Right in the middle of the big 80s when MTV was actually about music and everything in my simple, happy heart was New Wave. 40 years on, and there's been love and loss I could never have dreamed of back then. This version captures the introspection beautifully.
