35g of caffeine is well above the lethal toxicity level. Good lord. No way he didn’t do some damage there. Good show on the teams managing it.
Special thanks to Jena Partida at The Training Ground and Steve Connelly

Wow! A full recovery! Thanks to a brilliant medical team. It’s so easy to mistakenly pick up the wrong thing. I poured tea into my glass of milk and switched my toothpaste with hand cream. So easy to do. Now that I’m older and not so rushed, I pay more attention.

That's a lot of caffeine.
600 mb at once is too much.
Caffeine is actually the single most effective performance-enhancing drug there is.
It increases the strength of muscular contractions by 10%.
It increases maximum oxygen respiratory uptake
There's a reason why it's banned by the international Olympic committee
It also works synergistically with pseudoephedrine .
However the pseudoephedrine is associated with hardening of arteries in the brain.

9:40 The Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell lol
My science teacher in elementary school would never let us forget it, and I have the same reflex of repeating the words each time Mitochondria is mentioned

For once, it isn't someone doing something really fucking stupid because they're overconfident, it's someone making a mistake that most people could reasonably make.

These cases are patients who I, or my colleagues have seen. They are de-identified and many instances have been presented in more depth in an academic setting. These videos are not individual medical advice and are for general educational purposes only. I do not give medical advice over the internet.
I regularly consume ~600mg first thing in the morning over 20-30min, and have had upwards of 1g before over the same period of time
600 over 20-30min hits me like a train even with a decade of tolerance, I cannot imagine anything even close to his unfortunate mistake
Edit: caffeines effect in the body is one of my favorite topics to quickly show my medical side, presently work at a small coffee shop and love seeing jaws drop lol.

Wow couldn't even imagine putting powdered caffeine in my mouth the taste would almost immediately make most folks gag.
@Dan-O937should have balanced that bad boy with 60 beers and 20 shots of vodka
@randomclipper__35000 mg. Of caffeine is equivalent to drinking around 438 redbulls or ~220 monster energy drinks. (Taking in question only the caffeine amount)
@CzekytczeThe irony is that the amino acids in BCAA are commonly found when eating a healthy balanced diet.
@Killerkraft975Don't drink 875 cups of coffee in one go, got it. I will never do it
@hiddenpathogens9:41 says “the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell” flipped backwards.
To find that I had to watch on 0.3x speed and the narration sounded like if Baymax was running on low battery but still committed to sharing medical info 😂
The next bit of text is “-emia means presence in blood”
That’s about 360 cups of coffee (8oz), or 180 American large cups of coffee (16oz).
@happymantis2860Coca- ohhh caffeine 😂
@TradeFlowTradingWhat is the purpose of bulk quantities of caffeine?
@LeeAskren-sh7br09:44 what are those scrambled words?
@youssefkotb6028so the limit is 34999
@_Rainbooow400 mg a day is my limit without feeling crazy. I could only imagine this.
@HubbCity867:00 - That's right, it goes in the square hole.
@emon3539How?

9:41 made me pause the video and go back for that 😂
@Anonymousfrog4850For how many years is that dude 37?
@willem2099Bro could tank Gojo’s infinite void
@Big_BoxxI don't feel as bad drinking 300-400 mg on my heavy use days.
@dank2171Reading the title I was wondering how did he ingest so much caffeine without being an attempt, but being an accident makes sense
@watsonjunior85Does anyone know why they tried cleaning his blood of caffeine instead of just giving him donated blood?
@deepdietioNice try we all know his name is extraterrestrial 👽🤨
@SamariaSullinsHe was monumentally lucky to survive this. Holy hell. He had 35 fucking grams of caffeine. TWO grams can be a quickly fatal overdose.
Ironically, thank goodness it was an upper he was on and NOT a downer, because he was apparently so hopped up he was able to actually convey WHAT happened to the doctors still.
how many people caught the mitochondria message? 😁
@ARSZLBMy man took a Witcher potion as a human
@Niko.BodhisattvaThis is a very unfortunate accident.
