Be sure you’re getting enough folate (B9) to avoid a vitamin B9 deficiency.
A bit late for the party, but… another thing for men, now it’s being added to flour in the UK, it’s worth knowing that it increases the risk of prostate cancer by 2.6. This isn’t what it seems. A 2.6 relative increase is a doubling of your baseline risk of getting prostate cancer.

0:00 Take folate instead of folic acid: Here’s why
Dyor on 23&me….
0:42 Vitamin B9 deficiencies are common
1:28 A B9 deficiency can cause these major health problems
I have that gene 😢 i call it the motherfu**er gene
In this video, I explain the importance of vitamin B9. There are a couple of different versions. One is folate and one is folic acid. I recommend folate because it’s the natural version, whereas folic acid is synthetic.
Vitamin B9 is important in chemical reactions in your body, especially turning genes on or off, as well as DNA repair. You could end up with a lot of body issues if you have a B9 deficiency.
Thank you Doctor because of you i saved My life.❤❤
B9 deficiencies are common. The enzyme methylfolate, which converts folate or folic acid to its active form, often causes gene mutations on the MTHFR gene in different groups of people. Some mutations cause no problems; others cause huge issues with the absorption of folate or folic acid. In fact, thirty to fifty percent of the population has some form of these mutations; out of this population, people have varying abilities to absorb folate.
B9 deficiency can cause the following:
How can I take the test for Foley acid
● High homocysteine, increasing your risk of stroke, heart attack, or hearing loss
● Increased risk of cancer
Folic acid appears to be dangerous and actually leads to the blocking of folate uptake if consumed. Look into it. It should be banned but in the UK they are mandating its addition to foods. Like all those containing non whole wheat flour. This could be causing severe effects in the development of babies brains. Wont be good for the adults either.
● Increased risk of heart disease
● Infertility
First, thank you for all you share with us! It's life changing! I was excited to try your B¹² complex! But it brought to light that it's very likely I have the MTHFR mutation. Instead of feeling less fatigue, I felt more! Im wondering if you've given any thought to making an additional B¹² supplement the includes L-methyfolate for the 30-50% of the population that struggle with this gene mutation?
● Migraines
● Depression
So California is fortifying the tortillas NOW with Folic Acid… uh oh… Now I think it was dumb it passed into a law.
● Can’t detox
● Problems with neurotransmitters
Cali just mandated folic acid , must be in all tortillas!!! Newscum!!!
If you’re taking or exposed to folic acid, the synthetic version, and you have a problem with the mutated gene MTHFR, you could develop health problems.
You might be exposed to folic acid if you’re eating grains that have been fortified with it or if it is in the vitamins you’re taking.
Can I take methylfolate if I don’t have the mutated gene? I can’t tolerate dark leafy greens and don’t like organ meat
You get folate from dark leafy greens; also from organ meats, although very few people consume them, let alone eat enough vegetables.
If you want to know if you have trouble with the MTHFR gene, take the 23 and Me test online. If you have a problem, then you want to take the version of B9 called methylfolate. It’s easy to find. Also, take a high-quality B12 too, called methylcobalamin. Avoid the synthetic variety.
Shouldn’t b12 be taken by vegans, i mean for us omnivores it is in every animal product out there?:)
You can tell why getting enough folate is important to prevent a B9 deficiency.

So the two thing he suggests, 1- methylcobalamin b12, 2- Methylfolate. Both from herbal sourced.
Thanks for watching!
Dr Berg: It's time for an update on B9, specifically regarding Folinic Acid which RFK Jr was hinting at in a recent interview as a potential treatment for childhood autism.

@karimmoorad9649Thanks so much doctor my dad having low hemoglobin level and doctor advise to take 5 mg folic acid and after all not increase his hemoglobin level and now i recommended to use this
@galvarinogaming5628I’m giving my grandson a supplement L-Methylfolate
5-MTHF(15 MG per serving=2 gummies so a total of 30 MG)…plus it also has
Methyl B12( methylcobalamin 100mcg)
There is a noticeable difference in his behavior and his speech has improved greatly.
For now he is only taking this and a SPM(omega3)
Should I take B9 in the morning or bed time? Thank you Dr. Berg❤
@savannahthomas9841Does anyone know if there is an upper safe limit for folinic acid if you are an overmethylator?
@1995RobzIsnt methylfolate just synthetic folic acid with a methyl group added?
@MatthewD999I have folat meta folim
@MicaNikolic-x4mCan be used with fulvic
@MicaNikolic-x4mUnder no circumstances should anyone submit their DNA to 23 and me. One of the founders, Anne Wojcicki is married to Sergey Brin who was a co-founder of Google, which is a part of the technocracy cabal that is controlling us and ultimately wants us dead. In fact, it's best to not give your DNA to anyone. I realize that when this video came out six years ago, this information wasn't known to be as relevant as it is now in 2025.
@spamman007What about methyl folate? Is it much better than folate?
@julianasantana9746Curious about a safe and effective brand of Folate to purchase over the counter.
@cillag09My dad was prescribed folic acid for his dementia…he had so many problems and MANY allergies! I wish I knew so I could’ve helped him. He was always asking for docs to give him vitamin B shots. Apparently that’s what the Japanese docs gave him when he was young and living in Japan just for allergies…the denentia came later in his late 70’s -80’s.. Our docs didn’t do it for him. I wonder if the shot had B9 in it and if that’s why it was so effective
@daraki1Can we take folate in organic supplements which use spinach? Also, does anybody have recommendations for methyl folate supplements?
@Curiouscreator2Can people just stop screwing with our food, so sick of SIN-thetic crap.
@jason8582@dr berg L methlyfolate incraees weight? And insomnia?? Plz answer sir
@horizonsky6Dr. are trained to keep you paying his bills! If he fixes you the first time, he will go broke! He must sell the legal drugs as he is trained to do! Eric is a Dr. worst nightmare! America is the most corrupt country in the world! Even the highest levels will lie to your face in public!
@Champion_Mindset_427Can you advise which is right for pregnant woman
@Kiw4765what if you are low in folate but cannot tolerate methylfolate?
@AliciaAhlberg-x3gDr. Berg you again convinced me.
@edwardtocco5760It's one thing having it in your blood stream but it needs to cross into the cns to metabolize the neurotransmitters
@dg-wb4xgJust take methylfolate
@dg-wb4xgWhat about dosage ? 1000mcg ?
@Zaid.369You need to check if you have COMT I heard it recommended that you take folinic acid and hydroxycolomin instead or could make you worse You can find them at Seeking Health supplements.
@kimgary5771So you have to ask yourself why did Boris Johnson announce on UK television the government's intention to put folic acid in all flour products including organic flour when it interferes with your DNA repair system and they just gave people the covid-19 mrna injections. Anyone would think that the government didn't like us very much
@Stardust_Truth_SeekerWhat are good brands for methylfolate?
@amberp.3913I take methylFolate for its ability to penetrate the blood/ brain barrier.
@srlosardoHow do these compare to folinic acid?
@trans-dimensional@Dr. Berg I have Hashimotos how can I lose weight and get my life back to feeling some what normal
I feel like I am dying a slow death.
I've been taking L-methylfolate for a few years. It's strange bcs even if the dose per capsule is way higher than the recommended daily value, it still says "Take 1 capsule per day"?!?! So this time I bought a high dose one, but one capsule is enough to give me headache. So I'm looking for the ideal dosage for a 60kg female. (?)
@cestmagnifique7932Is L-5 Methyltetrahydrofolic Acid calcium salt ok?
@kris-harju8093How much M folate do we need for MTHFR?
@kris-harju8093Having chiari and seizures and being put on meds that increase issue with remethylation plus synthetic folic acid by a neurologist is down right frightening. I was so dizzy I had so much pressure in my head I hate AED and doctors now. Especially fake help designed to just give me a pill when my neck needs surgery. Unfair chiari is sign of neural tube defects which results from gene mutations and all they give me is stuff that makes it worse particularly folic acid and AED that lower folate and b12. I see through neurology western medicine too smart I am.
