Well I do like what and how mr. Cenk Uygur presents and I for sure agre with the basis of his arguments.
I do not know him, I do not know his point of wiew on his own ancestral history or why he ACTUALLY calls his organisation "Young Turks" (I'll present my guess) but I do not like the name at all.
The original revolutionary movement Jöntürkler in Ottoman Empire had similar ideals - they wanted nationalism (meaning democratic nation state) and less coruption (which was insanely bad - to the point it went to be normalized) - hence the guess.
But over not-so-long time they went from nationalism to NATIONALISM (siding with Prussia in WWI, creating militaristic, proto-fascistic state, Armenian Genocide... ...historical causes seem very complicated, but the party at least "allowed"* it...)
And later, their political decendants sided with Third Reich in WWII - meaning despite being Turkey officialy neutral, they deported many local Jews and were localy helping Germany "diplomaticaly"... ...read "spies". And yes, during the end of WWII Turkey started miraculously helping the Jews and sided officialy with the Allies...).
Over time (let's say cca 1908 onward) that government became almost as corrupt as the one the original Jöntürkler overthrown.
So, the history of the movement which's name he seemingly proudly uses is almost absolute example of good guys being corrupt over time. (It took only two to three electorial times btw.).
I am watching it in the moment and I hope that Lex at least asks Mr. Uygur what he thinks about the history of the original "Young Turks"...

Someone should tell Cenk that communism has never devolved into authoritarianism because there has literally never been a communist society in the history of human civilization. Communism requires two things definitionally - the ownership of the means of production by the working class or the proletariat, and the complete dissolution of the state. If these two things do not coexist simultaneously, by definition, it cannot be communism and there has been no society in the history of human civilization that has had both those things in place simultaneously. There's hardly any societies that have even had one or the other achieved.

He should also not talk about "human nature." No one should talk about human natural unless you are a philosopher, psychologist, or anthropologist. Otherwise, you don't actually know what tf you're talking about when you say "human nature." It's just a buzz phrase that you think you understand. Hardly anyone who has ever said that actually knows what the "nature" even is in "human nature."

In the Great War, Armenians fought against the Turks for their freedom in alliance with the Russian Empire, the Unity and Progress Party decided to exile the Armenians from Eastern Türkiye to Syria until the end of the war in order to solve the Armenian problem, and aimed to resettle them in Eastern Türkiye when the war ended, but Kurdish and Arab chauvinists supported by the Allied Powers took advantage of the exile and massacred 900 thousand Armenian civilians, and Turkish soldiers who tried to protect them were martyred.

Lex, Harris wasn’t a “communist”. It’s almost like you have no idea what “communism” is. Laughable. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I was once a follower of Cenk Uygur but recently I have changed my little
Mind when I think of cenk whatever? And Lex Frimand whose name I just realized was spelt like a idiotic superhero but I digress not in favor of these propagandists but in support of the common people who want to live in a society where they don’t have to feel less than anyone else but want to know that their efforts are made to be known.
