Let’s explain the EUROPA LEAGUE.

The Europa League was established in 1971.

It was originally known as the UEFA Cup.

It was created as a secondary competition to the European Cup.

As known as the Champions League.

The Europa League features teams from across Europe.

Teams qualify for the Europa League based on their domestic league performance and cup results.

Clubs that do not qualify for the Champions League often find themselves in the Europa League.

Additionally, teams that are eliminated in the Champions League qualifying rounds are transferred to the Europa League.

The tournament begins with a group stage consisting of 32 teams.

These teams are divided into eight groups of four, where they play each other home and away.

The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage.

The knockout stage is a round of 32 teams.

The eight third-placed teams from the Champions League group stage join the 16 Europa group stage qualifiers.

The tournament progresses through the round of 16, quarterfinals, and semi-finals, culminating in the final.

The final is a single match, held at a neutral venue.

If the match is tied after 90 minutes, extra time and, if necessary, a penalty shootout determine the winner.

The Europa League winner earns an automatic place in the following season's Champions League group stage.

The Europa League offers substantial prize money though less than the Champions League.

Clubs like Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, and Inter Milan have all won the Europa League multiple times.
