I got 23 kills and the win and they done put me in bronze 1, all because i barely played the previous season

It was so upsetting. I was in duos and me and my duo were doing the first game. We got 3rd with 22 kills and I was placed in bronze! My duo, who got 8 of the 22, got silver 3!!! Edit, I’m not upset about getting bronze 3, I’m upset that Fortnite says you’ll gain and lose the same amount yet we played the same game and I got more elims and he somehow placed above me.

Tbh I feel like after 4 months of ranked being released at the start of every season when I have to rerank I think to myself that they should have not made some people have a extremely high rank and then some players get bronze 1 but like it is still very balanced that the lower skill level you are in pubs or were in arena picks your beginner rank.

Tbh when I heard people we’re complaining that they got a high rank when they died off spawn I was going crazy cause if I got a high rank I would be balling

I wish we knew exactly how the ranking system works. If it's based on a metrics like the number of games or hours played then it would skew to high for a long time bot like me. If it's based on kills, or edits before kills, then it would be more fair. There has to be a way that Epic can collect data that would actually pin down the skill of a player beyond things like hours/games played.

I like the rank system but it ruined the casual games with no rank system. As a casual player, I like having fun and playing the original matches. But I swear I'm getting a lot of sweats land at the most random places with me.

As someone who tried to play fortnight for the first time and instantly got killed everytime I landed into a match I appreciate this because I didn't even get chance to figure out what I needed to do 😢. There's no trial to show you what to do neither so it's kinda like, throw you in the game and let you figure out on your own but I kept getting shot. And I stopped playing.

I can tell you I'm nowhere as good as Sypher at Fortnite and I got Platinum III on Zero Build.

So how does the game know you’re in your rank if you die off spawn? Does it take data from previous games? Your arena score? I just don’t get how this doesn’t affect you. In rocket league if you lose a lot of your placement matches you will forsure be ranked lower than you would be and you won most of them. Plus the whole “if you die off spawn you’ll go down in rankings” claim completely supports the notion that dying off spawn does affect your rank
