The Doner Kebab is Berlin’s most popular street food and in my opinion, one of the greatest sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. This is one I had to try and recreate at home.
It should be pronounced Der-na - not Doona.

16:54 It isn't the worst thing to eat, even when loosing weight. The sauces are the dangerous part.

13:15 lol look at that medium chicken.
Anyway the best kebab i've ever eaten in Turkey had meat red spicy sauce, garlic sauce, onion and tomato only. None of the sauces should be industrial oil or mayonnaise based.

Ethan I love you but that was the worst pronunciation of Pide and döner I've ever heard lol. An effort to pronounce foods from other cultures really should be made

It's funny how people try to pretend Berlin's most popular food is original and unique and not from the Arab world lol

I've been to at least a half-dozen+ cities in Germany, and most recently was in what was formerly East Berlin, and found that East--Berlin Doner Kebabs to be the best by far... The best place I found was ironically located in the main East-Berlin rail station. That shop has an AMAZING Doner Kebab. I tried all the 'hip' places out and about in East AND West Berlin areas over many years... That one place in the east-Berlin main railway station just *nailed it*. They have all the sauce options, the bread was fluffy perfection, the meat was amazing, and they are loaded with fresh veggies and sauce... etc... Unfortunately I don't recall the name of the place, but it should be easy to find.

As a kurdish person I have to say, that the Döner is kurdish. Because turks didnt know to cook with bread. they lived by riding horses and they stealed everything from kurds and persians before they came to anatolia to the byzantine empire

More User Perspectives
There is no rosemary and dried parsley in the doner marinade. Also, usually the marinade contains yogurt, oil and a squeeze of lemon.

@AlexWatson-o4udoner is turkish, and its not a sandwich, redhead
@Stefan_s_5As german i love seeing this 😊
@Arn-c8j"Germany's" döner kebab? Really? What a way to offend the entire Turkish nation
@siennagreen7Try to pronounce the word döner. Also, döner is all over Germany and Holland. It has nothing to do with Berlin. There is no such thing as Döner Berlin. Do your fucking research. Oh and the bread is called Pita, not pite. Pite is plural. MSG is not a standard ingredient of Döner
@tjerkheringa937It's DÖner not DOner. Really Americans should finally learn, that umlauts have a meaning and can not be replaced with the similar letters without dots. If you don't have that letter on your keyboard you need to write it DOENER with oe, because that's the correct replacement.
@dreamyrhodesIn the video, when you're making the bread, after mixing the starter and forming the dough, the ingredient list on the side indicates "bread flour," but you mention "all-purpose flour" in the commentary. However, it looks like a bag of King Arthur Bread Flour in your hand, from what I could see. Since all-purpose flour can make baked goods more tender, I can see how you would want this and changed it in the commentary.
Edited to add that on Middle Eats, he specifies all-purpose flour in his recipe. Either way you make it, they look delicious.
Garlic and Spicy for me
@MasterYonictf is a "dooner"
