This is such a helpful reminder that salt free doesn’t have to mean bland. Smoked paprika, garlic, onion, lemon, basil, and parsley can do a lot of heavy lifting. That’s why I like salt free blends from places like Milford Spice.

I always use garlic ,garlic, powder, onion in some form in anything savory,l use lots of cumin, and some chili powders,or diced green Hatch chilies, oregano,lm always piching up a new no or low sodium spice blend to try,l make my own seasoning blends so l can control the sodium.such as taco,or Fajita seasoning, etc,l use lemon, lime, these help some ,but nothing makes anything taste salty but salt,l cant use the salt substitutes as its potassium chloride and l am prescribed a Rx dose of potassium daily and dont need to get too much. About the best l can come up with,l started using salted butter again, mayo, salad dressings sparingly, l make guacamole to spread on my toast ,it has more flavor than plain avocado.l go ahead and use some pickle relish and mayo in tuna salads, potato salads, but cut back on the amount,l use. I cant cut out cheese completely,l use less than l would like to. I could make dinner from a Charcuterie board every night so its so hard to not have cheeses, cured meats, olives,Bruchettas etc,the best l can do is scale back on the amounts.

Thanks so much for this! I was hospitalized last Friday with a bp of 150/110 and again yesterday with a bp of 161/111 which is stroke level. I definitely needed this video because I’m doing a complete food rehaul including seasonings. I’m from the South so we LOVE our seasonings lol. Thanks for this informative video Dr. Jen!

Low sodium Ezekiel bread. No added salt, high fiber whole sprouted grains. I wish more bread and tortilla companies would use sprouted grains and no salt.

Dr J, do you need a Caribbean chief? Best of the West Indies, A Trini 🇹🇹 one at that 😊. Little to no salt, basil, parsley,Shado beni, Rosemary, cilantro, thyme, lemons, lime, Red bell pepper, green pepper, and habanero pepper, to name a few 😊.
Your taste buds will be firing, mouth watering 😜 yummy 😊. I stop using salt years ago, unless cooking for friends I use light pink salt. Green seasoning has natural salts.
Enjoy this beautiful week.
Love, light, peace and healing to you and family.
Blessings 🙏🏾❤️🇹🇹🙏🏾

I use garam masala with triphala pretty often. Works great with pulses, works great with vegetables, works great with popcorn, works great with smoothies. I do use salt as well, mostly iodized unless I'm fermenting something or using it to draw moisture out of vegetables for something like a vingared salad. For soup and stir fry ginger and garlic are a must, and when stir frying bitter greens cumin seed is good near the end of cooking. Cardamom is a great choice in soup, bean dishes, and smoothies.

I usually use garlic and onion powder with ground black pepper and kosher salt sparingly. I only use Kosher salt, when I use salt. I don't add salt to any packaged foods. I really try to watch my sodium and fat intake. I appreciate the tip on air frying cauliflower. It sounds delicious.
