And now we have a direct announced for tomorrow! Plus a Treehouse Live!

With the direct announcement yet again giving a one days notice, do you have any thoughts on why Nintendo gives much shorter notice than Sony or Xbox?

I have two main theories (though I just started thinking about this). The first is they’ve noticed that the fervor of will it/won’t it gets more traction than reveal speculation. They may even see it as a way to reduce disappointment, since you’re less focused on any one game and instead if there will be any games. The second is they aren’t locked into a date. They’re monitoring the discourse from the Sony and Xbox shows and ensuring there’s bandwidth for their games before finalizing the date and not giving others a chance to steal the spotlight a couple days before.

Nintendo's relationship with Platinum Games is reportedly Done. They weren't listed on the company relations infographic at the launch of Switch 2, projects (such as AC2) were rumored as cancelled, and Nintendo values staff- all their key staff left. Bayonetta 3 and Cereza underperformed and the games have served their purpose during the Switch 1's lifecycle. That's why they're done entirely and Platinum is trying to reboot Bayonetta on their own and forget Nintendo's version of the series (major characters died and a multiverse was opened in Bayonetta 3 to allow for alternative timelines (an alternate bayo 2+3 that don't have rights held by Nintendo) which signals the breaking point of the company's relations internally, not to mention Astral Chain's copyright was handed fully to Nintendo so they can outsource a sequel to a new developer.

I'm watching it just after the official announcement of a full fledged 50 minutes Nintendo Direct for tomorrow with a Nintendo Treehouse after that. Let's see… ❤

30 % chance for Astral Chain and Bayo3 boosts isn't much, and Platinum seem pretty busy with their own new games in the works... but man. I'll take it!

Not so sure there's even a 10 % chance of new console for Nintendo Classics though. Have they ever introduced more than one console per year before?

About Style Savvy, syn Sophia released an original Switch-exclusive fashion-themed game (Magical Craft: My Enchanted Dress Shop) fairly recently, on the 6th of November last year, and a week ago announced the game's upcoming localisation outside Japan. It may thus be too soon for a whole new game from them in this genre.

Ocarina of Time will the big main game of this Direct imo. Mainly because the next Zelda isn’t ready and it’s too early for the next Smash, Animal Crossing or Pikmin. The big surprise will be Luigi’s Mansion 4 for this October imo (with Ocarina in late September). These two along with Starfox, FE and Splatoon (on top of Tennis and Yoshi) will make for a great 2026 for Switch 2.

I know it’s not technically fully in Nintendo’s control, but I really want to see a switch 2 edition for Pokemon legends arceus. I tried to play it on emulator with graphics mods but it was too jank, and the base game is just a bit too rough for me to pick it up

Wario and something Metroid are my biggest hopes.

3D Mario is almost a guarantee at this direct, last 3D Mario was in 2017 which is insane!

Will this direct have both 3D Mario + Zelda OoT remake? Maybe but 3D Mario has a higher percentage to being the choice for Nintendo to show & release this November.

I think a rerelease of A Link between Worlds is in the cards too. That music has shown up in the Nintendo Music app lately.

I hope the next Just Dance game will be in the general direct. The next Just Dance game will be the first game that’s coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Tomodachi Life was great late life release for the Switch. I think giving it that much room really helped the sales. I definitely hope they go for more of those types of games for cross generation releases.

I personally think they wil expand the scope of this direct to cover releases to lat 2027. The reason being they want to entice people to buy Switch 2s given the prie increase. Nintendo's CEO even said he wants to aggresively have a diverse number of titles, and I think this presentation will reflect that.

What's your percentage for the 3D Mario tease? I didn't see at the end

I don't know how much you know about this, but the ArcSys branch made up of the Another Code/Hotel Dusk devs already released a new game back in July of 2025, called "Dear Me, I Was". I haven't played it, and I've heard it was apparently a fairly small project, but I imagine it still probably kicks anything Nintendo-overseen from the team back to later than you may be anticipating.

NF predicting Mario Maker 3 has me feeling a special kind of way...

Nintendo as much as I love my OG and SW2, have a big road to surpass what the last 3 days have shown on other platforms/shows. Not saying they can not do it, but they got some serious work to do till then, those of us with options are spoilt for choice this fall. Nintendo will have to knock it out of the park with atleast one reveal to even make a ripple on the gaming news lake surface. I'll be watching and continue to enjoy my SW2 as the year goes on, but they have a high bar to surpass if they want to get headlines.

they should've released an optional, wireless gamepad for virtual boy. using the joycons is lame and feels like half a product. they also didnt release a plastic peripheral for gameboy or GBA nso so your hopes for a ds clip-on thing aren't great :/

Honestly what with all the secrecy. If it's gonna happen why not just announce it and have the stream up with the date. Everyone else in the industry does it why not Nintendo?. I have no doubt there will be a direct but for all we know maybe not.

I do think CH5 of Deltarune will get a release date for a couple reasons:

1: Toby said in April that playtesting had started and that "that'll be all for a while..." It has now been a little over two months. The last time Toby went quiet like this was before CH3-4 were revealed at the Switch 2 direct.
2: Deltarune stuff has almost always been shown at Nintendo Directs.
3: Because I said so.

I do think the release will be further than some of us hope, going off of pure vibes I'm gonna say it's gonna release in July - September.

And also if we get Epilogue Modes for both Taranza and Susie Haltmann just like how they did with Magolor in Magolor Epilogue I think Taranza's Epilogue Mode would be like Taranza going to the Mirror realm to save Sectonia but then he has to fight against Dark Taranza and King D Mind in order to get out of the Mirror realm with Sectonia being along side with him and also they would use his moveset from Kirby Star Allies like that would be cool.



And for Susie Haltmann's Epilogue I think we could see Susie finding Kirby's Robobot Armor and bringing it back to Kirby after the events with Star Dream. Maybe she uses it in her adventure to stop something big that's around her home planet. Then she brings it back to Kirby and becomes Kirby's ally. Or they can do Susie visiting her home planet, Planet Haltmann, and stop President Haltmann's evil projects he made around Susie's home planet trying to save the people like defending them from these savages. Or they can have Susie help fix what President Haltmann has made in her home planet and maybe stop Star Dream once again. Maybe President Haltmann would return to see Susie again since he was corrupted by Star Dream and Susie would help to save him that would be a cool idea they can do for Susie's Epilogue and also maybe they can show us what Susie’s Mother looks like since she has her father but what about her mother that’s what I want to know. Or they can have Parallel Susie coming back to stop her original self and then having a Parallel version of Star Dream and a Parallel Version of President Haltmann and then Susie would try to convince her father and then hug him and then he would be sorry for leaving Susie in another dimension and then help Susie to stop Parallel Susie for taking over the universe with Parallel Star Dream. And also they can add Susie’s full moveset from Guest Star Mode in Kirby Star Allies as well. So yeah I hope Nintendo and HAL do Epilogue Modes for both Taranza and Susie Haltmann for both Kirby Triple Deluxe and Kirby Planet Robobot. I would love for that to happen.

I think they can give us a new 3D Kirby Game like a sequel for Kirby and the Forgotten Land like bringing back Elfiin and Clawroline like having Clawroline being playable like having her own moveset which her moveset would be slashing combos, charges, throwing knives, a pounce that creates a shockwave, and a teleport that could be executed in the same way as a dodge roll. Out of combat, her ability to climb walls could make for some very good platforming segments. And Elfilin can be a helper to Kirby and his friends, and then having new mouthful modes, and new copy abilities and upgrades. And also having King Dedede and Meta Knight being playable characters to go along with Kirby, Bandana Waddle Dee, and Clawroline. So that would be cool for what they can do for the next new 3D Kirby Game for Switch 2. But this could be for 2027 for Kirby’s 35th Anniversary.



They can give us a Open World Kirby Game which it would be Kirby and his friends which are Bandana Waddle Dee, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Tiff, Tuff, Escargoon, Adeleine & Ribbon, The Animal Buddies, Gooey, Marx, Magolor, Taranza, Susie Haltmann, The Three Mage Sisters, Elfilin, and Clawroline. And then Kirby and his friends get shipwrecked and Kirby is in this weird island that you as Kirby and his friends to go around and explore and find out who is behind all of this like who made you shipwrecked and why you're in this island in the first place and also stop him for taking over Planet Popstar or the world or something so they can do that for Switch 2. But this could be for 2027 for Kirby’s 35th Anniversary.



If they can do a new 2D Kirby Game where it would be based around that fake 2D Kirby game leaked which is called Kirby and the Celestial Stars where Kirby helps this new female Kirby Character that looks related to Susie Haltmann which her name is Polly so they can do that one for Switch 2. But this could be for 2027 for Kirby’s 35th Anniversary.


We could see ports or remakes for both Kirby and the Rainbow Curse and Kirby's Epic Yarn for Switch and Switch 2.



I do hope we get Kirby Air Ride for GameCube NSO. And also Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland for GBA NSO.



So what they can do for a Switch 2 Edition for Kirby Star Allies is that they can add new enemies, new bosses, a new mode, and new playable characters or Dream Friends like Morpho Knight, Elfilin, and Clawroline and also the Kirby Right Back At Ya gang like Tiff, Tuff, and Escargoon.



For what they can do for a Switch 2 Edition for Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe they can give us a new world, more new levels, new minigames in Merry Magoland like I would love for Scope Shot to come to Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe since it looks so cool to shoot robot versions of Waddle Dee, Chef Kawasaki, and King Dedede, and also new masks from the Kirby Anime like masks of Tiff, Tuff, and Escargoon.



And they can give us new Spin-off Kirby Games for Switch 2 like a 3D Kirby Fighters or a 3D Kirby Battle Royale Game, a Kirby Party Game, a Kirby RPG Game, a Kirby Sports Game, and a Kirby Warriors Game. And for all the Kirby spin off games the characters you can play as are Kirby, Tiff, Tuff, the colored Kirbies, Shadow Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Escargoon, Bandana Waddle Dee, Adeleine & Ribbon, The Animal Buddies, Gooey, Marx, Gryll, Daroach, Galacta Knight, Magolor, Taranza, Susie Haltmann, The Three Mage Sisters, (Francisca, Flamberge, and Zan Partizanne) Elfilin, and Clawroline. So this would be cool to see what we can get from Nintendo and HAL Laboratory for Kirby for the Switch 2.

I hope in the June Nintendo Direct we get to see some games for Switch 2 like 3D Mario (which it’s not gonna be this year but probably next year), The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake, Luigi's Mansion 4, a new 2D Donkey Kong Game, a new Punch-Out Game, 20:43 21:32 24:50 and a Kirby Triple Deluxe + Kirby Planet Robobot pack for both Switch and Switch 2 with new Epilogue Modes for both Taranza and Susie as well as bringing back all the extra modes like Dedede Tour, Meta Knightmare, Dedede Drum Dash, Kirby Fighters + Deluxe, Team Kirby Clash, Kirby 3D Rumble, and Kirby's Blowout Blast. 3:15 21:03 And also Amiibos for both Taranza and Susie. I feel like if we go by Monolithsoft's past announcements (axing the XCXDE switch 2 edition update we got since that was a pretty rushed update). Monolithsoft usually puts out an announcement for their next project the year following their DE versions. Unless I'm missing something I feel like Monolithsoft should have a pretty high chance of at least showing something in this direct.
