Lewis Hamilton Back On Top | F1 Barcelona GP 2026 Review

Video Overview & Insights

Lewis Hamilton has done it! The seven-time Formula 1 world champion has won a grand prix for Ferrari.

Everyone getting too excited. This is Ferrari remember. They aren’t just going to win the next 8 races!
Lewis is doing really well, but I can’t see it happening sadly.

— @Surtees-ff

Host Kevin Turner and guest Stuart Codling delve into how Hamilton was able to beat Mercedes duo George Russell and championship leader Kimi Antonelli at the Barcelona-Catalunya GP.

As well as Ferrari’s recent upgrades, we look at the bold three-stop strategy to see if Hamilton could have won without the virtual safety car, assess McLaren’s progress and pick out some other star performers in Spain.

KA will flatten LH. It's one win for LH.. Chill guys.
Ferrari has never been able to build on its strengths since their Schumacher days.

Old Aunty KK will wear him down although being round and round many blocks.

Drop your thoughts in the comments — did Ferrari nail the strategy, or did luck play a bigger part?

it's unfair to call him one of the greatest of all time because sir lewis hamilton’s case for being the greatest comes from not just dominating, but continuing to dominate across changing conditions, strong opposition, and long-term pressure — something no other driver has demonstrated as completely. winning races in his 20s 30s and 40s. unpresidented

Q crash was caused by taking the corner at a tighter angle which caused him to correct after a snap kept the power on snapped again n crashed nothing to do with brakes he took the tight line which caused the 1st snap ,,

I would love it if Ferrari were in the fight in Spielberg but, unlike Stuart, I can't see it happening.

What the hell is that guy talking about KAnot having the time to catch LH44?He would have been nearly 20 sec behind like Russel. Thinly veiled bias take there.

British media when Lewis wins ONE race due in large part from Alonso's dnf turned vsc. Yall were just talking all about how the W17 is in its own league and how its a 2 horse race, then Ferrari catches a lucky VSC that hands them the win, and all of a sudden that clear deficit we've seen all year, isn't there? Formula 1 reporters in this DTS era are scatter-brained clickbait chasers and drama amplifiers, not journalists. I'm happy for Lewis, but I can't wait for reality to hit the Tifosi and the "totally not nationally biased" british media come Austria next time out when both Mercedes are miles ahead...again.

I am a really big fan of Lewis, I have followed him from the start, beating Fernando Alonso in the Mclaren. Becoming a champion on his second attempt. Could had been in his first attempt, but Chine let him down. Back then he did not have tattoos;) Ross Brown and Niki Lauda persuaded Lewis to sign with Mercedes.
This is a great win, but the reality is that this is one race. if there wasn't a failure for Kimi, he would be up there with Lewis and every one on the top.

FIA should being back the 5 sec rule for the starts as it was part of the regs and everyone clearly fixed their problems. Mercedes even gets their ADUO to fix their to big turbo. As for now only Ferrari is paying for it while playing by the rules, thats unfair. Also we already have protocols for stalling cars...

Lewis is pushing Ferrari forwards now, big boost for the team, they need to make him number 1 now to get the Championship,

Imagine if there was a WDC battle at the end of the season between All time great Sir Lewis (Ferrari) vs young rising star Kimi (Merc)? That would be absolute cinema 🎥 imo!

i think both LEC and RUS will bounce back

Calm your tits. It's been exactly ONE race. Why does everyone partake in this sensationalist hyperbolic dichotomies? One swallow doesn't make a summer. I hate sports media.

It was curious that merc didn't split their strategy. They had the advantage of two cars at front to do it. I think Hamilton's speed would still have carried him through, but if the mercs keep fighting each other, Hamilton could benefit further.

The story is all about the GOAT that will find it's way back to the top of the mountain because he finds grip where others can't that's why he's that same guy

@Menon-s3u

Charles over-drives he doesn't really look at the grip he just go to win, the smart driver's look at the grip and how to gain time

At the end of last year Russel was regarded as the second best driver after Max. Yet to me its easy to drive in fourth when fifth is well behind. He just watched Max, Lando and Oscar battle. I think some reality has now been seen. Lando has had very bad luck but even so when he is in the car he has been driving just as good if not better than last year. He is maxing the car and Oscar is struggling with tyres. He doesnt seem to have the ability to drive around issues in the way Lando can.

About 2 sec a lap ahead of Mercedes...yet url say its a LUCK 😏

Congratulations to Ferrari on their victory! Hamilton made the difference, bringing back the competitive spirit and challenge to the race. The Ferrari management team is a force to be reckoned with, and I know this is a real spark for Ferrari and the ambitions of the team, technicians, and engineers in future competitions. Now, let's assume that Kimi had started first instead of Russell. I say with confidence that Kimi would have won, regardless of Ferrari. He was the fastest in the race, and Russell's weak performance was a bit of a lethargic after a series of strong starts. In the end, the difference was made by the talented driver, Hamilton Max Kimi.

Leclerc is overdriving to follow Lewis, which is the fate of all of his team mates when Lewis has a good car under hin
