Okay, everyone says why Grace didn’t return to earth. Not because of scumbags on earth forcing him to go on a suicide mission cuz Earth had NO choice, it was either suicide mission or entirety of earth going extinct. And even after Eridians built him a ship, he didn’t go cuz mental toll for being alone for 4 years is hard for the return journey! Yes coma technology could be used but has a 50/50 chance to work.

I'm confused about the timeline...didn't it say in the beginning that Ryland had been in space for around 113 years to reach Tau Ceti? Even if the probes at the end could travel much faster than the ship...it would take them at least another 12 years to reach Earth...so a minimum of 125 years would have passed. So would Eva really still be alive to watch the videos Ryland sent of Rocky???
