I'm always surprised at how junky PCH is between Santa Monica and Malibu.
In Maui, a rebuilt section of coast road and sidewalk is beautiful and useful. LA should rebuild PCH into a nice parkway.

@FredFlintstone-ml6jkSouthern California is very beautiful! I lived in San Diego from 1979 to 2024. It was very affordable in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s; however, as Southern California grew in popularity, the population, density, traffic, polluted beaches from Tijuana, homelessness, and the cost of living went through roof! Being retired, I couldn't afford to live there anymore. The beaches were ridiculously crowded, you can hardly ever find a parking space, specifically the beaches in San Diego. You have to have a very income, or be extremely wealthy to live near the beach in California. I was very fortunate to live there most of my life. It saddens me on the the quality of life in Southern California is not the same as it was 30 to 40 years ago.
