7:17 connecting the work clamp to the negative side and the electrode to the positive side of the power supply.
Wouldn’t that make it a reverse polarity? The electrons will run through the negative side (workpiece) and jump to the positive side (electrode)?

HTP Welding Machines are some of the best I've used. They aren't the cheapest, but they may be the best value considering the quality, performance and customer service you get:

Again thank you! I just decided to take the plunge on an omnipro 220 during the parking lot sale at harbor freight where I got it for $770 today. I got some Vulcan sticks at 30% off as well. With your little run-through I got to learn how to start the arc. I think swiping like a match in the direction that I would drag the bead is the least worst way to start. I guess my first question is how you're supposed to open those plastic rectangular prism shaped containers that the Vulcan electrodes come in! I thought maybe it was something in the bottom so I just cut open the bottom but I probably shouldn't have done that. Any tips?

@youthought878Been in the industry a couple years now and im pretty confident in saying that between welding and fabbing, welding is the easier of the two and welders will gatekeep the knowledge and act superior for doing so. Super glad to have found someone teaching it like this

@artimkalash3347Hi I'm a beginner here,, learning how to welding.. 😮 .. I thought it was simple as abc but honestly it's kind of a hard thing to learn .. I'm on learning angle, travel speed and arc length 😮😮😮
@JohnBosoI am currently in probation before starting my apprenticeship, I've been watching vidoes for welding and yours are so far the best with explaining and demonstrating.
Thank you lots
I just learned how to ski watching videos. Piece of cake. Welding is next on the bucket list. What's next? Skateboarding? 👍💪😎
@hrvojebartulovic7870Hi tim, when im stick welding and trying to keep a short arc i feel like im pushing through the steel im welding!! do you know how to fix this? I using a unimig viper185 or something with 6013 and 162 amps (max amps) on 5mm thick steel. Thanks alot
@FletcherHeadsBased on comments it seems I found a good tutorial. Im here in Philippines with a new inverter combo I bought that included a 4" grinder for only $60 and so far my welds are terrible but im on my third try. The slag is mixing into the puddle and after cooling looks like cookie dough when I grind it, black glass mixed in with blobs of steel and the tiny slag hammer they include is a joke. The sticks im using are local 6013 2.5 and dirt cheap at about 2 bucks per kilo, here they are sold by weight. I did manage to weld rebar to steel plate. It ain't pretty but is holding . Im subscribed and anxious to get better. Thanks
@johnnycakeslimGreat video man! Thank you!
@JRow888I only use a spool gun for Aluminum ive tried stick never came out right looked horrible now if im doing show quality I would use tig for stuff I can weld on the work bench otherwise its spool guns horse trailers dog kennels etc..

@king_cobra1492Your awesome man God bless you I'm 14 and I'm going to be doing welding in highschool and I knew how to use a mig but not a stick
@GoblinxGhoulExcellent explanations Tim!
@qcworkflowI tried looking up what welding rods were and how it works, and I wasn't disappointed! Thanks. I'm surprised how there're hardly any info showing how.
@LexyvilI can't see my material when trying to use my stick welder.
@jamestate75I just got myself a little setup because I'm going to go to welding school soon and I'm glad I ran into this channel. I put 4 beads down without knowing what I'm doing. They each looked better then the one before but I'm glad I found your channel because I get the feeling Im gonna need extra help.
@BeachMonkeyzSunday morning sunshine 😊
@bidaskcallbut atleast they show and use "CONNECTOR PARTS" at metalwelding, and not as big lie as at cooking and abstractArts where they not show you to create your connector parts yourself also, . adults get 99% money connectorparts sales when young not create connectorparts. omg. and those "teachers" would never tell you to use 3 and 4 times more material "sametime" to make more work results.
@springcarthey NOT show you 3 and 4 sticks use same time to faster results and more material connected faster. so much blabla bla talk but they NOT show you 3 and 4 sticks use same time to faster results and more material connected faster. they want you slow small results and factories big mega results money with AREÀ-size welding same time, and cheap robot hands doing the work.
@springcarI didn't see any proper welding techniques on a 2,5mm gap between the two plates vertical and horizontal welds. 😅
