7:18 A efficient way to get cancer, eating things that came out of that dark, overly exhausted oil.
TAIPEI, TAIWAN - Taiwan is extremely famous for their night market street food culture, and so tonight we’re eating our way through Nanjichang Night Market (南機場夜市) - a lesser known, yet extremely popular local night market. If you want an off the beaten path, guaranteed delicious Taiwanese food experience, this is a great Taipei night market to visit.
One of the greatest things about Nanjichang Night Market (南機場夜市) is that it’s not only a night market, but it’s open throughout the day and you’ll find different food available depending on the time of the day. Additionally, about 3 or 4 different stalls at this market have been featured in the Michelin Guide Taiwan.
Really great night market!

@davidleong6606How does Mark eat so much? Where does he put it all and still stay so thin? I always gain weight when I go home to Taiwan.
@tinakuo3562My sister stayed in Taiwan for 3 months only, but she gained 20 lbs because of the healthy and yummy food. Taiwan is on my bucket list now. <3
@FheeNix-y1lHa ha. I know Mark grew up in Kenya, but he says Bajia just like us. Coolness bro
@AlManase-n8kI just stumbled on this video by Mark, it's been aaaaages since I've seen a video of his (my fault) but gosh my memories of the first videos I saw of him are still so vivid, like 7 or 8+ years ago I think. It's like seeing an old friend again! Hahaha But the first thing I noticed is how thin his(/your) neck has gotten, is everything OK?
@ivduudt2980可惜沒去吃來來水餃
@源位奶查Have evolved into such a NATURAL, Mark...I got my t-shirt and am now one of your ambassadors out here in the world! THX for these great videos, Stay safe you and your family as you bring us great content! Looks like you really enjoyed eating in Taiwan!!
@zandeery2969What’s your favorite part of this video?
@MoatesTenenbaumIncredible!
@ClemenceBalonLove this energy.
@LeKhanu-l8pInstant classic.
@xuan-l7qAs someone living in Taipei, I absolutely loved this night market tour! It's so inspiring to see your passion for Taiwanese street food and culture. Taiwan's night markets are a big part of my life here—thanks for sharing this adventure!
@MarcillyTaiwanHonestly, I feel like both Mark Wiens and Mike Chen have a similar heart for food, they both travel, explore different cultures, and share the joy of eating. But these days, I find Mark’s videos more entertaining and engaging than Mike’s. Mark has this natural energy and smile that just pulls you in. The way he reacts to food feels genuine, and his pacing keeps you hooked. You can almost taste the dish through his expressions and detailed descriptions.
Mike Chen still makes enjoyable content, but lately, it feels like he’s at about half the energy and engagement level of Mark. Sometimes his videos feel more like a casual vlog than a deep dive into the food experience. The passion is still there, but the storytelling and excitement don’t hit as hard. Mark seems to be constantly evolving his filming style, adding variety, and staying very connected to the local culture wherever he is, and that makes his videos feel fresher and more immersive.
It’s like Mark takes you on a full adventure every time, while Mike gives you a nice food chat. Both have their place, but if I had to pick which one makes me want to jump on a plane tomorrow, it’s definitely Mark.
Welcome to Taiwan 🇹🇼 Islands 🏝
@Racr-j4oA word of advice for travelers thinking about visiting Taiwan right now: the country is going through a wave of “idiocy terror.” It’s best to hold off on coming for now so you don’t get caught up in the stupidity.
@GoJumboJoyWe’ve just visited this market and had great food. My favorite was the sesame noodles with pork balls. Will definitely go back there again. Thanks for the heads up Mark
@elizabethlinsellim.praying for taiwan❤
@joseroybanzon2873I would hesitate to eat too much in case there's no bathroom to use ha ha...
@whataname0125:09 this is something we have as a family meal celebration where we have over 20 ingredients on the table and we each mix and match to our own taste. I compare it to Vietnamese spring rolls in Ho Chi Min. It’s not like the Vietnamese spring rolls in the west but the same idea applies. A table full of ingredients and you mix and match o your own rolls.
