Als Schweizer kann ich dieses "Ranking" nicht nachvollziehen. In der Schweiz sind die Löhne relativ hoch, was hier als arm bezeichnet wird, gehört in Deutschland zur Mittelschicht. Italiener Leben zu 70% in einem Eigenheim und haben keine Zusatzkosten bei Zusatzleistungen, während dessen in der Schweiz die Eigenheim rate nur 30% beträgt, die meisten davon müssen dafür noch eine Hypotheke aufnehmen. Dazu bezahlen wir noch 10% der unserer Gesundheitskosten selbst. Trotzdem, Von Skandinavien über die Baltik, runter über Polen nach Italien, kann sich kaum einer im Weltweiten vergleich als Arm bezeichnen.

I think what is considered "poor" in Europe, is still considered far above worldwide standards, nearly everyone can sustain a car, healthcare, enough food etc.etc. The same in Canada, Australia, but the USA has a real poor population, most can't even afford basic necessities.

The poverty rate has little to say... because here in the Nordic countries the poverty rate is completely different from the rest of the world.. so i will say.. its 0% comp to US or others.. min is high standard

Your interpretation of the Swiss poverty rate is the typical hogwash people publish when they blindly use numbers without understanding the mechanics of a specific economy. In Switzerland, the earnings are so high and the usual living costs are so low (so the savings rate is SOO high, as borne out by the OECD numbers) that a considerable percentage of the population only has to work part-time to finance their living expenses. This percentage - mainly among young professionals without children - is so high, that it substantially increases the number of households that earn below the 60% average threshold for "poverty" calculations. But the reality is that these calculated "poverty stricken" parts of the population are actually enjoying the benefits of sky-high average earnings! 😂😂

It`s strange that you put its boundaries as west as the Dardanelles and as east as Kazachstan!
I can not imagine of any argument geografical or political, that puts such a country in europe , it being on the same geografical meridian as Afganistan!
