I agree with the father. What's the rush to get married? Especially when the guy has no financial stability and the fiancée has to pay part of the expenses first. Not very mature as a future husband.
About On The Red Dot: CNA's weekly programme documents the stories of ordinary Singaporeans and celebrates their resilience, identity and sense of belonging.

Love what Suhaimi shared at 11: 12 onwards. "Slow down and plan properly". A wise warning.

As a fellow gen z approaching my 30s his kid is definitely immature, clearly Suhaimi can see his son is not mentally mature yet to become a responsible husband, hence why he was against him rushing into marriage. In islam marriage is not for the fun of it, a husband holds alot of financial obligations towards the wife & children, financially clearly he is not well prepared that he needs the fiancee to be paying for the wedding instalments.... Sufi if you're reading this definitely listen to your dad's pov he is not getting angry at you for the sake of getting angry... please try grow up.

It’s not easy to grow up under the shadow of a famous parent. You share him with many people, you feel like people are watching you even more closely than they watch others… His dad has done a fine job of raising his son with wisdom and firmness, without breaking his spirit. His son has grown up well too. He pushes some boundaries like all sons and daughters do now and then, but he loves his father and respects him too. It’s a heartwarming and genuine sharing. Thanks for being open to us and showing us an example of a healthy father and son relationship. All the best on the wedding and the marital journey ahead.

Im so glad all is good. When I took a glance at the headline, I assumed bad things. Suhaimi is a famous comedian for us growing up in the 90s and 2000s, hoping all the best for him and his family!

@NicholasFoo-c2xI agree with the father's point of view. He is trying to make sure the son will become a responsible husband. But this kid is too eager to get married unfortunately.
